About this property
Cottage in Brecon Beacons
Cobblers Cottage / Llythyrdy is a traditional stone built cottage, set in the heart of the peaceful rural hamlet of Pentrebach, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.
Located next door to the community owned pub, Shoemakers Arms, meals out or enjoying a beverage or two, being just a few steps away.
Cobblers Cottage is perfectly located for guests with a love for the outdoors, having many walking routes from your doorstep and within a short drive of numerous mountain hikes and other attractions too.
A short 3 mile drive to the village of Sennybridge for any essentials, or 12 miles into Brecon.
The cottage has glorious views of the surrounding countryside, with the River Eithrin, a tributary of the Usk, running besides the cottage garden. If you are lucky enough, you may get a glimpse of the trout or even an otter that swim this small waterway.
Enter the property into the sitting room, retaining its “olde worlde” character of the cottage with exposed beams and large stone inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove.
The kitchen is spacious with ample storage, electric double oven and ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A table which seats 6. A high chair is available for the little ones, along with a toddler friendly dinner set. A welcome hamper with a few essentials can be found on the kitchen table, along with the cottage handbook which covers all the information you may need during your stay. You can enter the terrace and garden from here through the patio doors.
The utility has a separate sink, washer/dryer and space for storing coats, boots and any pet paraphernalia.
There is a large second sitting room with a featured stone fireplace and a TV. A sofa bed is available on request, in this room, for any guests with mobility issues. Downstairs is also a family bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. There is also a separate WC.
