Ready for a Texas Hill Country escape with your large family or group of friends? Look no further than Lakeside Bankhouse, a four-bedroom home near New Braunfels that features a private dock, two kayaks, lovely views of the Guadalupe River from two decks, and plenty of space for up to 12 guests and a dog!
You'll find this home in a relaxing rural setting between the towns of New Braunfels (nine miles north) and Seguin (10 miles south), about 39 miles east of San Antonio. Situated on the winding Guadalupe River's western shores, it's a prime location for paddling to Lake McQueeny, which lies downriver.
Spread out in the spaciousness of this home between all of your Hill Country adventures. Catch a mid-day nap on couches in the living area, where you can also rest under the ceiling fan's cool breeze. Flip on the flatscreen TV for a favorite cable show, or gather your group and stream a movie on Netflix.
On warm, sunny days, grab a refreshing glass of sweet tea and head onto either of two decks. On the upstairs deck, you'll even find a wicker set and a gas grill that's perfect for a cookout.
Speaking of dining, the well-equipped kitchen has everything you'll need to whip up a delicious meal, including modern appliances, generous countertops, and assorted cookware. Enjoy homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner with your group in either of two indoor dining areas.
Toss your dishes in the dishwasher for easy cleanup afterward, then leash up your dog (welcome with a small nightly fee) and take him on a walk around the neighborhood. You could also grab the two kayaks and head down to the private dock for a paddle on the river.
When it's time to call it a day, retire home for a great night's sleep in any of four bedrooms. Up to 12 guests are accommodated on queen beds in three bedrooms, a queen and twin bunk set in a fourth bedroom, and a sofabed in the living room. Bedroom extras include bedside reading lamps, ceiling fans, another TV in one of the rooms, and windows with privacy shades.
Additional amenities include free WiFi, a private washer/dryer, a desk, and two full bathrooms with tubs that are great for end of the day soaks.
Wake with a fresh cup of coffee and some toast in the kitchen, then get ready for a new day of adventures. Kids will love a trip to Schlitterbahn Waterpark (about 10 miles north), while those 21 and over will appreciate a tour of the Spoetzl Brewery, makers of Shiner beer (65 miles east, but definitely worth the trip).
You could also take a drive into New Braunfels (about nine miles north) for nature walks in Landa Park, shopping at the Downtown Antique Mall, or sightseeing in the Gruene Historic District on the north side of town.
Everything's bigger in Texas, so plan a grand vacation for your large group at this charming home today!

About Vacasa, TX - Texas Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers. Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team. Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Was relaxing but not on river. It's on an inlet from river. Fishing not good.
It was a spacious house. Relaxing. Not actually on the river. On an inlet from the river which was a little disappointing and fishing not as good as we would of liked. Has a little picnic grill so was not able to do any grilling.
Too expensive for the quality
Positives: Quiet. Fast internet.<br />
Negatives: Bathroom door jammed. Floors with holes. Dining chair broken. Furniture old. Sinks not draining well. Bed sheets, pillows and blankets were not clean.
Too expensive for the quality
Ground floor bathroom door jams and hard to open from inside. Some of us were stuck inside for few minutes. Dining chair is broken. Sheets and blankets were not clean. Sinks do not drain properly.
We are sorry to see our guest experienced these issues. Maintenance will get these addressed, and we will follow-up with housekeeping regarding the sheets. Thanks!
Great home for large family
Great home with everything we needed for the week. Kids loved taking the canoe up and down the creek behind the house. We had difficulties locking some of the exterior doors but the property manager came to help and is aware of the problem. He was very nice and available.
The house is in a great location next to the river. It’s nice and quiet and a great price for big groups. Would definitely stay here again!
