Experience coastal living at dog friendly Harbour House Studio, Porlock Weir. Located directly beside the charming harbour, this studio apartment offers a front-row seat to the bustling life of the sea. Its one-of-a-kind accommodation is perfect for couples, solo travel and SWCP walkers.
Main Description
Situated in the heart of Porlock Weir, Harbour House Studio has been converted into modern self-catering holiday accommodation:
Sleeps up to 2 guests
Ground floor studio apartment
Two single beds (can be pushed together)
Kitchenette (kettle, microwave/grill, toaster, sandwich maker, 2-ring induction hob)
Bathroom: toilet, sink unit, heated towel rail, walk-in shower (overhead & handheld)
Towels and bed linen provided
Designated parking space for one car
Wireless broadband available at no extra cost
Smart TV with Freeview, YouTube, Apps, Netflix, Disney etc (pay per view - not included)
Electricity and heating included
Electric fan
Grocery shops approx 1.5 miles in Porlock or Minehead.
Strictly no smoking or vaping in the property
Arrive from 4pm
Depart by 10am
Due to its harbour-side location this property is unsuitable for children under 11.
1-2 dogs are welcome for supplement of £20 each:
Due to the size of the studio, 2 small to medium sized dogs or a 1 large dog is okay.
Please feel free to contact us with the number and size/breed of your dogs if you are unsure if this property/space would suit you.
Please bring your own throws, dog bedding, bowls, food, towels, wipes etc. Please follow our dog house rules, cleanliness after walks, bring your own dog beds/blankets/towels etc and keep them off the furniture/bed/bedding/throws please. We have an outside tap to hose them off if necessary.
The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.
Indoor Description
Entrance to the property leads into a small lobby area, with the main living area through to the right.
There are two single beds at the far end, a bistro table with 2 chairs and a 2 seater sofa.
The small kitchenette is equipped with an under-counter fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave-grill, air-fryer, toaster, sandwich maker, kettle and electric hob. Its ideal for those who want to make their own breakfast or brunch and prefer to eat their main meals out and about.
The shower room is off the entrance lobby, comprising walk-in electric shower, toilet and hand basin.
A Smart television (connected to wifi) is set up and ready for you to watch Freeview or log into your own Neflix, Youtube or other App accounts (use and viewing is from your own account/s and at your own pay-per-view cost/s). Good wireless broadband is available throughout the property.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you away from the property.
A small selection of tea, coffee and sugar are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There are non-perishable items like a salt and pepper.
Some cleaning materials such as a washing up liquid, spray surface cleaner, a broom/dustpan/brush/mop etc will be available and toilet rolls are provided for your stay. Other cleaning products are available on request.
If you want to stay local, Harbour House Coffee Shop is next door serving local D J Miles coffee and teas with a wide selection of breakfast, brunch, light bites, quality cakes and our popular cream tea.
The Bottom Ship Pub serves great food and is open for lunch and dinner. 5 Star meals to suit every palette are bookable at the Porlock Weir Hotel or freshly made pizzas are available at their Terrace Bar.
Outdoor Description
The harbour is literally on your doorstep! Walk just a few steps over the little bridge to the stunning cottages on Turkey Island and pebble beach next to the harbour.
Parking
There is one allocated parking space for Harbour House Studio just beside the property. If you have a second car or visitors, there is a pay and display car park very nearby.
Pets Description
The Studio is dog friendly and Porlock Weir is super dog friendly with great walks and two dog toilet bins close by.
Up to 2 small/medium sized dogs are welcome, or a maximum of 1 large dog, simply due to the size and nature of the property. Please feel free to contact us with the number and size/breed of your dogs if you are unsure if this property/space would suit you.
Please bring your own throws, dog bedding, bowls, food, towels, wipes etc.

The region
Porlock Weir is a picturesque harbour village on the Exmoor National Park coastline in Somerset, with a history stretching back to the 15th century. The small tidal harbour, with its ancient lock gates and pebble beach, sits at the heart of a thriving community.
You'll find a welcoming pub, restaurants ranging from relaxed dining to Michelin-listed Italian cuisine, cosy cafes, and a popular street food takeaway -- all within walking distance of the harbour. Independent shops and galleries line the lanes, including Exmoor Glass, the Harbour Gallery, and Porlock Bay Oysters, which opened expanded premises in 2024.
The larger village of Porlock is approximately one mile away and has a broader range of amenities including grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, and a selection of independent restaurants and tea rooms. Most shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
Porlock Weir was recently used as a filming location for The Salt Path, the adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestselling memoir about walking the South West Coast Path.
