About Jack Rodriguez

In 2003 My wife and I purchased 5 acres of land on a private road in the Swinging Bridge lake community. By early 2005 our dream home was built, and the years of fun and adventure with friends and family began. Twelve years later, now with our son well into sports and other activities, we have decided to share our special home with others.

Jack Rodriguez purchased this house in 2004

Beautiful Property in a Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

My group had a wonderful time staying in Jack's property recently. Jack is an extremely helpful host - providing helpful information and answering all questions in a timely manner. The property itself is beautiful - a spacious, clean home in a private area that provided for a lovely weekend getaway. I would recommend to all!

Beautiful getaway house

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful. It is tucked away and really offers a retreat. Great for a large group w the bedrooms very separate from living spac. Most Vrbo homes we’ve stayed provide some bath soap, that would be the only thing I wish We had been prepared for (: very small hiccup! Jack was a great host and easy to communicate with. I’d stay there again if we’re back in the area!

Luxe Country Home indeed!

  • 5 of 5

The home is very well maintained. There is plenty of room for our big family. We loved the patio for outdoor entertainment.

The hosts were very responsive to our inquiries. They were very accomodating with our requests.

I hope that we get the chance to stay another time.

Beautiful maintained

  • 5 of 5

We really liked this house and would love to put it right on a lake! The living area is great. Beautiful pool table, bar and sitting area with TV for all to hang and be together. Kitchen had all your needs, just wanted a few more plates because we hadn't run the dishwasher yet (for the overflow). We used the grill and it was fine. Beds were comfortable and we loved the master sweet. It's on an unpaved road which surprised us for such a beautiful house. It was a treat. PS we went swimming at the public boat launch a short drive from the house.

Beautiful house, but major issues

  • 3 of 5

Our start with this house began with a concern about finding it. The roads leading up to the house are normal paved roads. Unfortunately, this house is not on a paved road and the number of pot holes made me wonder if our Dodge Grand Caravan was going to make it. Add that there are no lights and no other houses on this road I was wondering where we were going.

Luckily, there was a garbage can near a stone with the number on it and we were going slow enough to see the number and find the house.

The house itself is lovely with a pool table, bar area, sunken living room. First floor is really well set up. However, the management needs to work on keeping the house in working order.

First problem - the owner had set up a new credit card to pay the internet but Hughes.net did not have the information. Internet is very important here because cell service is almost non-existent. Then the coffee pot did not work. You cannot just set up the coffee pot and have it make coffee. Instead, you must set the timer for it to work. I got around this by setting the time for 1 minute later. Additionally, the air conditioning was not working. Normally, this might not be a problem but we came during the summer and it was a very hot summer. There were also no washcloths in the bathrooms. There were a few hand towels but no washcloths.

Finally, the set up is somewhat unusual. There is a master bedroom upstairs and a loft outside of the bedroom. There are three full bedrooms downstairs and that would be a great set up, parents upstairs and kids downstairs but no television upstairs at all. Also, the curtains in the master bedroom are flimsy, white curtains. They do nothing to keep sunlight out and we had bright sunlight shining into our room at 630 in the morning.

Now, the owner was extremely responsive. When we told him about the internet he was on it immediately and that was fixed that day. Unfortunately, he has a property manager and while the manager was able to replace the thermostat in the master bedroom, that did not fix that the fan did not work and he was unable to get us a coffee pot that worked or some washcloths.

Ovrerall, the house is absolutely gorgeous and I would highly recommend it with a few modifications.
