Dolgellau is said to have the highest concentration of listed buildings in all of Wales, with over 200 of them, and it has been classified as a "cycling break centre," with a number of specific cycle routes running through the town. The Coed y Brenin mountain bike trail is nearby, and the area is perfect for peaceful outdoor activity because it is close to mountains, forests, waterfalls, castles, and beaches.
