The Space:

Enjoy an antique cottage-style home with private deck in a quiet neighborhood.



The main bedroom has a queen bed, drawers, a closet, a window, access to the bathroom, ceiling fan. A window air conditioner is available for those warm Summer days.



The guest room has a tall, full-size bed and a large window to let in light and breeze.



Villa Serena's living room has a daybed that is roughly half the size of a queen bed.



This home offers an outdoor table on the private deck.



It's most comfortable for up to 4 guests. With approval, we allow an extra guest or two for brief, last-minute stays.



If you have more than 3 adults, consider renting two or more of our side-by-side cottages.



Guest Access:

Guests have use of the entire interior of the home and the private patio except for a supply closet/cabinet or two.



The Neighborhood:

This neighborhood is wonderful. If you travel with your dog you will appreciate the park up the street, the hiking and walking trails beyond the park, and the beach down the street. There are great coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and massage spas within a few blocks. Leashes are required by law, but in the evening the park is taken over by off-leash pups who know how to party. The beach is usually dotted with friendly, off-leash dogs in the early morning and around sunset. If you're not traveling with your dog, you will still find the area beautiful and convenient.



Getting Around:

One does not need a vehicle to get around the Windansea area of La Jolla, but if you do have a car, there is ample street parking in our neighborhood.



There is a bus stop about 200' away, however, a healthy walker can get around on foot. Walking north from the property, you will pass the seal beach (aka "children's pool" about 2 miles away) and can go on a few more blocks to see sea lions at the Cove. Walk about a miled to enjoy "The Village" which is our downtown area with casual and fine dining, shops, and grocery as well as more relaxed eateries, a movie theater, and just about anything one could need to enjoy a vacation or long term stay.

We offer our rentals only to guests who'll keep our neighborhood clean and peaceful. Identity verification is required prior to check-in. While this is a very quiet neighborhood, generally, expect normal suburban neighborhood noise.



Save! We partner with a super-cleaner who you can pay directly—no markup, no 12.75% tax, and no 15-20% platform fee. Guests pay just $25/hr, saving $60–$100 on a typical cleaning, compared to nearby rentals. If a back-up cleaner is needed, the cost will be typical for the area.



To start your stay, you'll receive a free 2-day supply of essentials like soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.



Pet & wildlife-friendly! We abstain from using harsh toxins that will harm pets or wildlife. If a bit of hair or a surprise visit from a four, six, or eight-legged friend might ruin your trip, this might not be the right fit. By booking, you acknowledge that the occasional presence of tiny locals is part of the experience—not a cleanliness issue and not grounds for contacting Airbnb, requesting refunds or leaving less-than-5-star reviews.





Same-day bookings may require later check-in for last-minute cleaning.


Well-trained, friendly dogs are welcome. Pet rent is $20-25/night/per pet. Akitas, Cane Corsos, Chows, Dogo Argentinos, Pit Bulls, Presa Canario (canary dog), Rottweilers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, wild canines or mixes or hybrids thereof are not allowed. Host approval required.



Big group? Book up to four of our adjacent cottages for up to 24 guests!

Provided beach gear includes chairs, towels, and boogie boards. If desired, snorkel gear may be rented at nearby shops.



A/C is available for when indoor and outdoor temps exceed 75 degrees Farenheit. NEW! powerful gas wall heater is located centrally in the dining room to warm the home quickly when you arrive to the property on a chilly night! Please note that bedroom door must be open for bedrooms to be warmed up during cold weather.
