The Bolthole is a charming characterful cottage, converted from 19th century farm buildings and set in stunning open countryside.
Amenities: Oil central heating. Electric oven, grill and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher. TV/DVD player, TV, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair available. Off-road parking for 3 cars. Gardens, decking area, patio furniture, barbecue. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3.2 miles, pub 8.5 miles.
Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
Town: The pretty village of Eglingham sits on a country road between Alnwick and Chillingham, and with its stone houses, lovely gardens, stream and wooded areas, it makes a lovely spot to visit. There is a fine Victorian church in the village, a large pub and also a good restaurant. The surroundings are ideal for those wishing to get away from it all – you may see the heron grace the Eglingham burn, or just relax and take in the views and incredibly wide skies of the area. Within easy reach are the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the castles at Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Chillingham and of course Alnwick, with its spectacular Garden next door.
