'Mas Des Fleurs' is a secluded haven amongst vineyards, fruit orchards and vegetable farms. It's a glorious setting with extensive gardens and a large spring water filled swimming pool, yet is walking distance to the historic and colourful city of Perpignan and only 10 minutes by car to the Mediterranean's long, sweeping beaches.

'Mas Des Fleurs' comprises 3 gites. It can be rented as an individual holiday home or as part of the cluster which is ideal for a large family group holiday - total accommodation sleeps up to 14 guests in 3 gites plus 3 babies in cots.

'Mas Des Fleurs' itself is bordered by an Apricot orchard, Olive grove and vine and palm tree nurseries, and is situated in the centre of a unique conservation area of fruit and vegetable farms called Les Jardins des St. Jacques. There is a lovely restaurant in walking distance from the farmhouse and 'Les Jardins SJ' is also home to a historic and picturesque village (Chateau Roussillon) and two first class vineyards. Plus, the beautiful city of Perpignan, with fabulous shopping, pavement cafes and historic sites is only a short bike ride or two minute car journey from the farmhouse. Throughout the year there are many festivals in the palm-tree lined city, while the old quarter is home to several multi-cultural food markets and full of fascinating Catalan architecture.

It's a truly superb region for any type of holiday at any time of year, with windsurfing, kitesurfing, walking , climbing, skiing, tennis, and golf all within easy reach. From exploring The Pyrenees and Spain to soaking up the sun of The Med or touring the vineyards of the Roussillon region, there's a new activity in every direction. Roussillon is the sunniest part of France with approximately 320 sunshine days a year. Autumn is a real treat with balmy temperatures providing a welcome break from colder parts of Europe. The Med resorts of Canet, Barcares, St.Cyprien and Argeles, all with expansive golden beaches, are just minutes away. The famous and beautiful Collioure, Ceret and Figueres in Spain are loaded with artistic history. All around are views of the majestic Pyrenees while the lush surrounding countryside is quite simply carpeted with sun baked vineyards. If all that was not enough, the lovely Costa Brava of Spain is Roussillon's southern neighbour.

Perfect family holiday - super relaxing, beautiful grounds, pool & cottage, amazing kids facilities

What a gorgeous place, stunning, peaceful, spacious gardens and pool and all toddler proof with a play area and heaps of toys to keep her entertained whilst we relaxed. Very friendly and warm welcome from the hosts, nothing too much trouble, great wine recommendations and dining out. Super easy to get to the property flying from stansted with 15 min transfer. Short car journey to a huge sandy beach, and many other beaches to sample further afield too. Olive house was fantastic, set in the shade of a big tree so it kept cool in the heat with loads of outdoor terrace space. A really great place for families & we would def like to come back in the future.

Nice, tucked away place close to everything

We had a nice stay. Had a warm welcome by James. We stayed in Olive House which is tucked away in the garden. Lots of privacy. Down side is that it does not have airconditioning which on the real warm days is recommendable. Perfect for families with kids. Lots to do in the garden.

Perfect location to relax

The location has an amazing garden with a great pool. The little olive house has a lovely style, is very cosy and has a fantastic terrace. One of the best things are Ilona’s Yoga classes which gave me an awesome start in the day. Thanks to the nice owners James an Ilona. We had a great time.

Just Perfect!

James, Ilona and family have created a wonderful holiday destination set in beautiful grounds. We had a perfect eight days staying in Olive House which was very well equipped, beautifully presented and had exactly the right combination of privacy yet being well looked after. The location is great too, being only a short drive to Perpignan centre, beaches, the stunning seaside village of Collioure and even Barcelona for a day (which we did). Thanks again to the lovely Waller family who helped make it - as declared by the kids - "the best holiday ever!". Only regret is we couldn't stay longer! Hope to see you again soon - The Yorkshire Dales.

Class Act

The owners have created an oasis. In a city. This property is magically situated in a vast park carved out of the city of Perpignan. It's beautifully landscaped, bursting with excellent hospitality and run by 2 fabulous people. Look no further. Stay here! It's a total gem.

Un bon moment de détente

Le chalet “mas des olives” est très agréable et nous avons passé un bon séjour reposant . L’ endroit est très calme. Vu la période nous n avons pas profitè de la piscine mais cela doit être très agréable quand le soleil chauffe. Un petit bémol : pas de cafetière électrique seulement une bouilloire et seulement 2 chaînes tv en français. Mais cela ne nous a pas vraiment gêné c est plus pour informer les futurs locataires français 😉 Nous serons heureux de séjourner à nouveau au mas des fleurs.

Mas De Fleur experience

Staying at Mas De Fleur was fabulous, it was a great base to embrace as little or much as you want. The travel distance from Perpignan airport was 20 minutes, straight into a very welcoming arrival with everything you need. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed lazing by the pool and enjoying the tranquil surrounding gardens and landscape. There was lots to do! We enjoyed taking our kids aged 11, 16 and 17 to the beaches within 20 mins drive and had a great day up in the mountains on an amazing high wire rope course across a huge river within stunning landscapes. We were also fortunate enough to coincide with one of the biggest ever mobile fun fairs in Perpignan and enjoyed a great day out by driving to Barcelona. So much to see and so much to do. The outdoor Market was great fun with lots of interesting things to buy. The list goes on! What I loved the most about this holiday is that you could just chill by the pool with some really good wine or you could go out for the day for some excitement. Great Holiday in a great place!

Hidden gem so close to city .

Love this place ! 3 years coming and still want more . Great for families that want a bit of everything , excellent location , fantastic pool , lovely hosts that create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere . Accomadation compact but clean comfortable and all you need, we have always rented villas in the past but ourselves and our children would now always choose to come back here for a relaxing beach orientated holiday . Grounds are spacious and well maintained ,Perpignan city centre is within walking distance and it is a short drive to the beach . Excellent .

Great place to relax - even with a baby!

We stayed for 2 weeks as a couple with an 8 month old baby in the Olive House and had a wonderful holiday. James and Ilona are unobtrusive but incredibly helpful hosts and provided a highchair, travel cot, buggy and a big box of toys so we didn't have to bring lots of items from the UK. There were some lovely little helpful gestures which we appreciated, such as returning to find a marrow, courgettes and aubergines from the vegetable patch outside our door. The fantastic outdoor swimming pool, lots of garden space and the children's play area makes this an ideal place for travelling with children of all ages but I also think we would have had an equally wonderful time had we travelled on our own. We enjoyed walking to the local bakery for breakfast items (the baby looked decidedly upset when we got back to England and served him porridge!) and had great day trips to Carcassonne, Collioure and to the local beach at Canet. Perpignan is worth a visit if only to get an ice-cream and have a nice lunch. We also visited a local winery which was fun. There are many more destinations which we couldn't get to, such as narrow-gauge trains into the Pyrenees which would have been an ideal day out if we had an older child. The Olive House itself is well equipped and the wi-fi worked flawlessly. The weather was hot and with one fan in the property this may put some people off staying in the very hot months of the year. We would also recommend taking mosquito coils and insect repellant as there were quite a few biting insects in the garden after rain. Overall this property comes very highly recommended.

RELAXATION AND TRANQUILITY IN A FAMILY SETTING

We visited Mas des Fleurs for a two week stay in August this year. This was the first time we had stayed here and our time was spent in the Olive House. In essence, we really enjoyed our time here. The ambience, the tranquillity and the beautiful garden and pool were just lovely and such a change from the busy pace of life we normally enjoy in the UK. The garden was fully enclosed and very secure which is a bonus with families. The swimming pool was very clean with comfortable loungers etc. We were also able to benefit from produce from James and Ilona’s veggie patch for which we were grateful. The Olive House (which is essentially like a large log cabin) itself was well equipped, cosy and had a more rustic feel than the other two apartments on offer. The real benefit of the Olive House is that being located in the garden means that if you have particularly young children you can sit on the terrace, enjoy a glass of wine and keep a watchful eye. In terms of the area, we visited Perpignan. To walk from the farmhouse would be a bit of a trek, however, you can drive halfway and then walk and be in the centre within 15 minutes. We also went to the beach at Canet and enjoyed the mini golf at St Cyprien which was great fun. We would also recommend going to Collioure by train (because parking is a nightmare) and Villefranche de Conflent (a beautiful village with lots of shops) by car and taking the Yellow tourist train up into the Pyrenees. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and we left knowing that we had still far more to see and do. I would have loved to have stayed another week if I could. James and Ilona are great hosts and of course the gorgeous Woody and Mocha, my favourite chocolate Labradors, who are so gentle and friendly, cannot go without mention. I’m sure that we will return another year.

Beautiful location, a lovely holiday

We have just had a great stay at Le Mas spending one week in the Olive house with our teenage son and 8 year old daughter. From the moment we landed till the day we left we really thoroughly enjoyed ourselves ! We had great fun playing table tennis on the grounds and both children gained confidence swimming because the pool was never over crowded . They also LOVED the two adorable Labrador dogs. The setting is really beautiful with a lovely shaded area to read a book , a vegetable patch which produced some fab vegetables kindly given to us by James and a pool that is the cleanest I have ever been in !! There was a lovely mix of feeling we were being left to ourselves to enjoy the garden and pool etc but yet there was always someone there if we needed something. James and Ilona have created a wonderful place to stay and we will definitely be back. Perpignan is not my favourite town in France but The beach and Resort in Canet ( which is 15 mins by car ) is a great spot for meals, street markets and buzz during the day or at night. Thanks so much James and Illona !!

Perfect relaxing holiday

We stayed in Mimosa house, which was perfect for our family with 3 young children. The house was cool, clean, good furnished and had everything we or our kids could need, including the toys. The garden is perfect and has a nice playground for the kids. The swimming pool is really good. The kids loved it. The beach is 15-20 min drive and is very nice. We would definitely recommend this holiday home.

What a perfect place to stay on a holiday!!!

WE have just returned from a lovely two week holiday at Le Mas, which was everything we hoped it would be. We rented all three available accommodations which was the perfect solution for a successful extended family gathering. The owners of Le Mas were very welcoming and helpful at both the booking stage and also during our stay, and the general atmosphere was very easy going. We really enjoyed the beautifully designed and maintained gardens which provided an oasis of calm and beauty, and plenty of space for us all to relax. The swimming pool was spotlessly clean and fresh, and a real joy to swim in. ( I felt like I was swimming in evian!) All our accommodation was clean, attractive and well equipped and we had some great evening barbecues with all the family. The excellent location of the property made it possible to easily access the beach in approximately 10 mins by car, and there were many amazing tourist destinations to visit all within around 1/2 drive. Shopping could not have been easier with plenty of well stocked supermarkets a short drive away, and we walked down the road in the mornings to buy warm croissants for breakfast. All in all Le Mas was the perfect place for our holiday, and we hope to return at some point in the future.

Perfect for family's

We have just returned from a lovely week in 'The Olive House' with our young children (3 and 5). The gardens which are beautifully landscaped and maintained, provide many shady areas and are completely enclosed and secure so we happily let our children play out. The pool area (very clean with plenty of comfortable sun beds!) is surrounded by a net fence with gates that you have to reach over to open meaning the kids can't get to the pool without an adult, very important with young children. The Olive House has a really well equipped kitchen, fans are provided, it has inside and outside eating areas, and the provision of child accessories eg, steps to sink, small toilet seat etc all made for a very easy holiday. Overall we had very relaxing holiday, our children loved the pool, local beaches and the garden, especially the play area. Le Mas is very child friendly, would highly recommend, we will definitely be returning!!

Large , nicely landscaped , rural property

This is a perfect place for a family with small children ... it is a gated property w' a playground for the wee ones & plenty of room to run around in ... the garden is landscaped beautifully , including a vegetable garden which our most gracious & lovely hosts , Illona & James , gave me grazing privileges to ... awesome ! It is also a wonderful location for those without children ( as I was ) as it is close to Perpignan center & all the other local attractions but had an " out in the country feel " about it . The swimming pool would be a definite plus for summer visitors but it was a bit too cool , weather wise ( in May) for me to use , though it was pretty to look at & sitting around it in the sunshine was lovely ... I rented the cottage in the back of the property & it was very private , under the trees & away from the main house ... it was quite spacious & well equipped with everything I needed to cook lavish meals for friends & family while there ... a most notable memory of my stay there were the owners themselves ...very friendly & helpful & welcoming ... I would definitely recommend this gite to anyone looking for a relaxed , country setting with a family feel ... parking is onsite ... there is WIFI but I couldn't access it in my cottage ... only in ... or close ( a bench outside the main house will do , I was told , though I couldn't pick it up there either ) to the main house would it be available so if you need to be connected you would have to find a way to do that on your own ... The cottage I stayed in was rustic but had everything I needed to be comfortable , including portable heaters ( which I used a few times very satisfactorily ) ... washing machines are on property too with shared lines for drying ... all in all ... I loved it here & would come again ... lovely spot ... lovely people ... and a perfect location for getting around the area ... close to the sea , the mountains , Spain ... I would suggest having a car , though one can walk to a few close by markets ( a short walk down the road for a local farm market ) & shops ( the " Spar ") , a car would be helpful for further destinations & for those not inclined to hike a few miles to get in & out of the city center ( such as myself ! ) I enjoyed driving into Perpignan @ night for an occassional meal in a restaurant , whereas I never would have walked in @ night ... a bit too far for that ...

We stayed in the wonderful "Olive House" in the garden of this beautifully landscaped property - the description on the website really doesn't do it justice! My wife and our two young children enjoyed our stay immensely. The area is "off the beaten track", making it all the more desirable. There is plenty on offer in the local area - Perpignan centre is well worth a visit and you also are only a short drive away from some wonderful beaches, aquapark, go-karting, horse-riding as well as the picturesque Collioure (well worth a visit!). The owners were very friendly and excellent hosts. I will certainly be coming back and would recommend this property to everyone, whether a family with young children or a mature couple.

Tranquil hideaway close to downtown Perpignan

We were there in October - somewhat off-season, and found it a delightful place to stay. It is close to town and to major highways for sightseeing, but a tranquil place to retreat back to. We found adequate groceries, wonderful bakery goods and even fresh pizza close by in the small neighborhood shopping area. James and Ilona were very helpful with advice on when and where to go, and all-in-all it was "a home away from home".

My wife I spent a delightful long weekend at Le Mas. James and Ilona were wonderful hosts and made us feel very much at home away from home. If your idea of a good holiday in France involves wine, good food, beautiful countryside to explore and more wine, it is perfect!

Great garden setting for this holiday let

The Mimosa Garden Apartment was one of the three holiday lets at Le Mas, a Catalan farmhouse in a pleasant rural setting within walking distance of Perpignan. Our party of four found the accommodation clean and comfortable, the garden setting was stunning, a perfect place to chill out by the pool, watch hoopoes feeding on the lawn and admire the trees and flowering shrubs. A short walk away we found a market garden shop selling locally grown fruit and veg, a well-stocked general store and a fantastic bakery with fresh bread and patisserie daily. Ideal for our car-free holiday the gite would be a good base for exploring the area by car or public transport. Our hosts were relaxed and welcoming so we would definitely recommend this holiday let to others.
