Seabirds House is a large Edwardian sea-captain's house with a very commanding position overlooking St Ives and the sea in all directions.
Flat 2 is on the first floor at the front of the house and the views are superb - it’s almost unique in St Ives to be able to see both the crashing waves on the Porthmeor surf beach, and the sheltered harbour beach. It's a studio flat with a bed that drops down from the wall in the sitting room - and can be pushed up, complete with the bedding, during the day. There's a separate kitchen (also with a sea view) and a good size bathroom with bath and shower.

Godrevy Terrace is quiet with very little passing traffic - you'll only hear the wind, the seagulls and the sea itself. Yet it's 2 or 3 minutes down the hill to the lively heart of this bustling little holiday town, and equally quick to get to the 3 main beaches. It takes a little longer to walk back up the very steep hill - and Seabirds is not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The flat is bright and modern, comfortable and convenient with everything you need for a holiday, but we don't claim to provide "luxury" accommodation and we don't have dishwashers or very posh kitchens so our prices are reasonable.

We also have a two bedroom flat, Flat 4 Seabirds House, which is on a separate listing - 8145290.
And a small separate one bed flat 100 yards away - our Barnoon Flat - listing 8151990. This flat also has a lovely sea view, over gardens to the harbour.

Birthday Treat

"Best view in St Ives" is no exaggeration. Unbelievable. You can also see the sea when lying in bed. Lovely kitchen and bathroom. Great shower with fab pressure. Easy check in and out. Close to everything in the town. Great communication and information provided by hostess. Cant wait to stay again.

Experience of flat 2, 1 Godrevy Terrace

Flat was generally as expected. However it was not well stocked with glasses e.g wine glasses (2) were extremely small. No glasses if you wished a gin and tonic and cutlery was in short supply. Could have had more plates etc. Access to keys via safety box not easy to open.

Really lovely apartment every we needed. Very Comfortable bed

The apartment view was spectacular. Our first time in St Ives we felt so lucky to have the best view. The only criticism was the blinds they were difficult to open and close and the beautiful sunlight woke us most mornings. We are both shift workers so had hoped to sleep in after 06.00 ! Would love to come back again. Thank you

Best view in St Ives

Had a great stay at the property, wonderful view over St Ives and its beaches, just a few minutes walk downhill and you reach the harbour. Would defiantly recommend.

Amazing view

This studio apartment is in a great location, close to all the shops and restaurants. There is a long stay car park just behind the property, but I would recommend using the car park provided at the home. The council car park is very busy. The property was clean and very basic, with a pull down bed in the living room. The bed was comfy enough. The area is very hilly so you need to be quite fit to walk up and down the hills . The views from the property are amazing, I could sit at the window all day looking out to sea, listening to the waves. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

October birthday retreat

Absolutely loved our stay in Flat 2. I totally agree that it probably has the best views in St Ives. The flat was clean, well equipped and very comfortable . The position was excellent, just five minutes walk from the beaches and great restaurants but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful . The only noise we could hear was the wonderful sound of the waves crashing onto the beach below. Mary responded very quickly to all my questions and the information provided was accurate and useful. My husband and I had a memorable three night break here and can not wait to visit again.

A wonderfully positioned studio flat with stunning views

This is a perfect base from which to enjoy the sights and sounds of the seaside and to explore St Ives and the surrounding area. The flat is well-appointed and comfortable with plenty of hot water. Most memorable of all are the views in all directions as you eat or relax. We returned feeling truly refreshed and hope to return.

It was tidy and clean with a fantastic view of St Ives

It was a short 3 night stay in a convenient location approximately 5 minutes from the quay at St Ives. There was a council car park just a 100 yards away, reasonably priced. The flat was clean and tidy on our arrival and the bed was comfortable. We had no occasion to use the cooking facilities as we frequented the local restaurants of which there were many. Some restaurants were undergoing renovation before the seasons really starts but there was still plenty to choose from. Overall a very enjoyable stay with a fantastic view.

The best views in St Ives

The property was clean and simply furnished with everything we needed provided. We were a little puzzled initially by the fold-up bed which was neatly incorporated in the storage unit! However once we had found it, we discovered it was quite comfortable and we loved sitting up in it in the morning watching the sun come up over the bay. The views from the large bay window were fantastic which was the main reason why we selected the property in the first place.

Stunning view!

The flat was clean and comfy, everything as described. The view of St Ives was amazing! Very handy for all the art, beaches and restaurants. We had a wonderful break, thankyou- we will be back!!

An amazing little place

This apt (apt2)has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in St Ives. The views are breathtaking, probably the best in StIves as you can see from Porthmeor right around to the harbour, and beyond to Porthminster. Although compact, it feels surprisingly spacious, because of the huge bay window. Not suitable if you don't like hills!

surprisingly spacious with fab views

love staying in flat 2 seabirds and enjoying the amazing views - more time to gaze at st ives even when resting after walks can still enjoy the wonderful views . watching the sunsets and sunrises in bed is such a treat. This is our third stay here - it is a great location just a few minutes from town yet very quiet. surf beach also easy to get to from the flat which my other half appreciated.

Clean, compact apartment with amazing views of the sea!!

Clean, compact apartment right in the heart of St Ives! It's in the perfect location for exploring all the fabulous beaches, shops and restaurants that St Ives has to offer...it is situated at the top of a hill, so those with mobility problems may struggle...but the climb up there is worth it as the panoramic views of the harbour and the sea from the living area are amazing!! We had a great week away and would definitely return for future holidays :-)

Lovely flat, great views

I stayed in flat 2 for 3 nights. It was absolutely lovely, really great stunning views of both the beach and the harbour. Very good location, within 2/3 min walk of the shops in the village, and a 2 min walk to the beach. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

Best view in St ives

Have stayed in seabirds flats many times now and you can't beat the views. St Ives is a beautiful quaint Cornish harbour town with lots to do We had an amazing stay here and our flat was clean, well equipped and managed perfectly - 5 stars!! We even got engaged!

our stay in flat 2 seabirds house

we have just come back from our week at seabirds. we chose flat 2 for its sea views and it did not disappoint - they are totally stunning. you can see two beaches and the town spread out in front of you. It was great for steve as he could check out the surfing conditions before even leaving the flat! as a bit of an artist I would also say this flat is perfect to do some sketching from the window (great if the weather isn't favourable for sitting outside for too long. the location is minutes from town and its variety of galleries, restaurants and cafes. gluten free is well catered for with cream teas, ice cream cones and pasties all available gluten free. the flat is very well designed with a storage wall that conceals bed and pull out table tops - this is so clever as it makes this studio flat feels very spacious and not at all like we expected for two person accommodation. we booked the garage and although a bit tight squeeze is fine for a small car - it was well worth having as parking is a challenge if you don't have a dedicated space. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already booked for next year ann and steve

Hello! We are Mary and Henry Brown, the owners.
We live in London and have a wonderful team of people in St Ives who help us to take care of Barnoon and Seabirds House. Henry looks after any issues with the building, and I manage the bookings. I really enjoy the contact with our guests - many regulars feel like friends even when all the contact has been by email.
Apart from St Ives and family, our main interest is sailing - in a dinghy on the Thames and a bigger boat on the sea.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

In 1998 we bought a little flat in Barnoon Terrace, having fallen in love with St Ives, and the view. We let it as well as using it ourselves from the start.
Then we saw another property just up the hill which was in a very sorry state indeed. We bought it and had the inside completely rebuilt, turning the original 7 flatlets into the 5 lovely flats of Seabirds House, taking full advantage of the position. We have now passed flats 1,3 and 5 on to new owners, who will be continuing to let them out for holidays. I can put you in touch , if you are looking to return to one of these flats.
The position of both Seabirds House and the Barnoon Flat is great - less than 5 minutes down to Porthmeor beach or the harbour, or the shops and restaurants of the pretty little town. St Ives is lively all year round.
