Casa Cote Bassa, located in the small village of CHIESSI, was originally a farmhouse. On the ground floor was the storage area where tools for working the land and for wine production—made from grapes harvested on the terraces above the village—were kept, while the living quarters were on the ground floor.
The building has now been completely renovated and is located just a short walk from the beautiful granite cliffs, known in the local dialect as “COTE,” from which the house takes its name.
Casa Cote Bassa is located on the ground floor and is laid out on a single level, consisting of a comfortable double bedroom with a door leading outside; a second bedroom with two single beds that slide one inside the other, connected to the porch by a large sliding glass door. You’ll find a bathroom with a window and a large, elegant floor-level shower with a glass wall and showerhead.
The kitchen has a table and chairs for dining and is fully equipped; it opens onto the porch through a large sliding glass door, creating a sense of continuity between the kitchen and the porch.
The porch features a dining area with a table and chairs for four and a small sitting area. In front of the porch is a teak deck with a sea view, furnished with sun loungers and a wooden swing.
All the windows and doors in the house are THERMAL-ACOUSTIC. Air conditioning is available in every room.
A SMALL SOLARIUM, just a few steps from the house, directly overlooking the cliffs, shared with other guests, equipped with sun loungers and a seating area, where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets over Corsica.
With central heating and heat pumps, it’s ideal for a holiday any time of year. 24/7 Wi-Fi throughout the property.
For lovers of the sea, its location just a short walk from the cliffs offers the ultimate comfort for a holiday where the sounds, colours, and scents of the sea take centre stage.
With its simplicity and attention to the smallest details, you’ll feel right at home.
AREA We’re located in Chiessi, in the western part of Elba—also known as the “Costa del Sole” (Sun Coast)—thanks to its mild temperatures year-round. Chiessi is a small, charming village overlooking the sea, away from mass tourism—perfect for a completely relaxing vacation. In Chiessi, you won’t find shops along the seafront, nightclubs, or restaurants, but plenty of tranquility where time moves slowly
A pebble beach, crystal-clear water, and cliffs that slope gently into the sea. The view stretches out over Pianosa and Corsica, and those who love to stay on the beach until late can enjoy one of the island’s most beautiful sunsets as the sun dips behind the French island.
For mountain lovers, several accessible trails start from Chiessi and lead to the summit of Monte Capanne (1,019 metres above sea level). The spring and fall colours in Chiessi are particularly striking.
All amenities (supermarket, bakery, post office, ATM, butcher shop, etc.) are located in the nearby town of Pomonte, which is 1.6 km away—a two-minute drive, or a 15-minute walk along an old, well-maintained, scenic mule trail that connects Chiessi to Pomonte.
The area is well-served by public buses
