About this space
As a cherished guest, enjoy exclusive, complimentary access to the pool and gym at The Swan Hotel and Spa just a 5 minute drive away.
The Nest is a stylish apartment set over the second and third floor of a modern apartment building. Situated in the village of Backbarrow, its central location just 2 miles to the shores of Lake Windermere and 10 miles to Coniston Water makes it the perfect base. Jump on the Haverthwaite Steam Railway which runs to the shores of Lake Windemere, then sail up to Bowness and Ambleside. This Lake District region is a walker’s and cyclist’s paradise or just kickback and relax in the nearby Spa.
The space
The Nest is a beautifully designed, second floor duplex apartment. The apartment is laid out over two floors, with it's own private entrance at the front of the building. The open plan living/dining area situated on the lower of the two floors is the perfect space to relax and unwind on the comfy corner sofa in front of the smart TV (Complimentary Netflix) with family or friends after a day out exploring. The space also features a dining area with a table and chairs where you can all gather for meals, games or perhaps you're visiting for business purposes and require ample space to work. Head out of the patio doors to the balcony where you'll find a super snug seating area to enjoy a morning coffee whilst soaking up the peace and quiet with views across the River Leven. The modern kitchen is equipped with all that you need for the cook of the group to prepare an evening meal for all, featuring a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven with electric oven and hob, washer/dryer and much more! The apartment is served by fibre broadband, so don’t go thinking that just because you’re staying in a secluded location that you can’t keep in touch with friends, family, colleagues, or clients, because here at The Nest you can.
Also on the lower floor you'll find a spacious king sized bedroom with a luxury hypnos mattress so we're confident you'll wake up feeling refreshed after a great nights sleep. The room is equipped with plenty of storage space for clothes, and a family bathroom with a bath tub, shower overhead, a heated towel rail, a sink basin and WC.
On the upper floor you'll find a Super King sized bedroom, the bed is zip & link and can be made into two twin beds if required (please let us know in advance of your stay and we can arrange for this to be set up for you). There is a third double bedroom on the same floor and again both beds have luxurious hypnos mattresses. There is also a second floor shower room with a shower, sink basin and WC.
The Nest will comfortably sleep up to 4 guests with ample seating for all throughout the living and dining area. We have specifically ensured that your family trip away is suitable and safe for little ones by providing a Nuna travel cot and a higher level bassinet option is available if needed for infants, there is also a highchair, an audio baby monitor, changing mat, baby bath toys, games, a potty, toddler toilet seat, a step stool, plug in night lights and retractable stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.
Every inch of The Nest has been thoughtfully designed and decorated to ensure a fully equipped and comfortable stay for all.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole apartment. There is 2 designated parking spaces for The Nest
Other things to note
Please note:
Check-in is from 16:00 and Check-out is before 10:00.
We allow ONE well behaved dog at the apartment, however we kindly ask that they are kept off the beds and furnishings. Please also ensure that you clean up after your dog if you allow them to foul outside the property. Please bring your own bedding and towels for your dog.
There will be a £50 call out fee if keys are locked inside the property and a £100 fee if keys are lost.
The property is set up to allow remote access with easy self check-in meaning that no direct contact with anyone is needed.
The apartment is unfortunately not suitable for anyone with impaired mobility due to the 4 staircases required to reach the door. There is no lift access at the apartment.
IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.
The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.
Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
