Great bungalow with enclosed garden in a perfect location. Lots of places to eat in the village and lots of walks from your doorstep. Louie was a great host and very helpful.
Just right for us and also the dog. We really enjoyed our holiday and meeting Louie was a bonus too. He is really helpful and added to the pleasure of our stay. We will be back!
Hi, I'm Louie, I live next door to the Walled Garden. My father and grandfather built the mirror image bungalows in the early 60's and I have lived in one or the other for all but the first 18 months of my life! I'm an ecologist by trade and have had a life-long interest in natural history. I'm a keen traveller and love walking , especially in northern Spain where I have walked many old pilgrim routes (caminos)
My eldest son and myself recently renovated the property, which now keeps me busy. Over the years I have seen many changes in Long Melford but can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live!
The Walled Garden has a unique position in the village. It is located down a long driveway, so is very tranquil, but is also a 5 minute walk from a selection of shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. There is access via the back gate and cricket field to a selection of footpaths, ideal for those with dogs that need exercising. It is also a great location for exploring Suffolks medieval villages and for a longer day out the Suffolk coastline and nature reserves.
