Tucked away near the peaceful hamlet of Dulnain Bridge, Rivercroft is a striking, architect-designed home built on the grounds of the original family croft. Blending contemporary design with natural materials, this stylish escape offers floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame the sweeping views of the surrounding Highland countryside, a view you'll never tire of.
Inside, the home is thoughtfully laid out for both relaxation and adventure. The ground-floor master bedroom enjoys access to a Jack and Jill bathroom, ideal for privacy and convenience. A spacious boot room ensures there's plenty of space for muddy boots, wet coats, or outdoor gear after a day exploring the Cairngorms.
A fabulous glass balustrade staircase leads to the upper floor, where you'll find a light-filled twin bedroom , a peaceful double bedroom and a family shower room set between them, perfect for families or friends travelling together.
Please note: Rivercroft has a private spring water supply, providing fresh Highland water straight from the source.

relaxing

Very nice and comfortable cottage on a nice location. A perfect place to explore the Cairncorms. Its a very good place to calm down from busy working life. The hottub is so relaxing. Unfortenately the bridge on the road is closed so you can only reach the cottage from Carrbridge.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Rivercroft. We’re delighted to hear that you found it to be the perfect base for exploring the Cairngorms. As you noted, the bridge closure means the direct route to Dulnain Bridge is currently unavailable and access to the property is via Carrbridge. For guests travelling onwards to the north/east, there is also the option to park on the opposite side of the bridge, approximately 100 metres from the lodge. Unfortunately, the bridge closure is beyond our control but we do hope repair work begins soon so that it can be reopened as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back in the future.

Short Break

Beautiful lodge .Spotlessly clean and very well equipped for a self catering holiday. Dogs loved the very large wrap around garden. Awesome hot tub. Road closure didnt cause us too much bother but considering the bridge has been closed since December it would have been good to get more than a weeks notice of closure .

Wonderful House

I highly recommend staying at this beautiful place. It was so welcoming and cozy. Everything was well appointed and homey. The drive was challenging because the easy access way of the bridge was closed. Otherwise, everything was wonderful. Thank you!

Relaxing stay in lovely house

Delighted to have found this house and we hope to return. Around 15 mins north of Aviemore, in a tranquil setting, it is well equipped and comfortable, and dog-friendly. A perfect base for all the activities in the area, we enjoyed the views, local walks and the hot tub.

Fantastic house in a lovely peaceful location

We stayed here for a week with our adult children. This is a lovely house with tasteful decor throughout, luxurious bedding and a fab hot tub. It was immaculately clean and really well equipped with everything you need in a holiday house. We will definitely holiday there again.

Family Holiday

Lovely peaceful setting with fantastic views across the countryside. Very well equipped holiday home, everything you need. Hot tub added luxury that was well maintained. Plenty to do in surrounding area with walks on your doorstep. Highly recommend.

Poor maintenance

Rivercroft is in a stunning location and well situated to explore the beautiful, Aviemore is only a short drive away. However, the maintenance let the lodge down. The two carbon monoxide detectors had low batteries and started beeping in the early hours of the morning on two separate occasions. Great North Lodges were helpful and the owner did arrive the next day. The living room door was broke on arrival. The front door was sticking, making locking it difficult. The extractor fan in the upstairs bathroom was not working. The downstairs shower was useless. The frying pans and baking sheets were in poor condition and the living room windows very dirty. All this reported to Great North Lodges so hopefully it will be dealt with soon. The beds were comfortable, the lodge was clean but we felt for what we had paid it could have been better. Loch Morlich and Loch An Eilein are well worth a visit. Carrbridge has a lovely woodland walk and great pub, The Cairn Hotel. Sainsburys delivered our groceries which was good. Would recommend Macduies, Aviemore, for a meal. We also visited Kinara gin distillery which was fab. We would definitely return to this area and book again with Great North Lodges, but wouldnt stay at Rivercroft again.

Peaceful location with lovely views

The location is so peaceful and offers wonderful views of the countryside. It's in easy reach of lots of great things to do for all ages. The house was well equipped however the cleanliness of the property let it down a bit for us.

Great holiday

We had a brilliant and comfortable stay at Rivercroft. The house was so well equipped and the welcome pack was such a lovely touch. The house is set in a gorg location with lovely views. Lots of wildlife to see including hares , deer’s and bats. We hope to come back soon.

Fabulous Rivercroft

Fabulous location , with panoramic views. Beautiful accommodation, fully equipped for family life. Very warm property , sadly did not get use from the log burner. Hot tub , great ending to days spent exploring, walking, biking. Would love to return x

Great holiday in a beautiful location

Rivercroft was spacious and very comfortable. We found everything we needed in the kitchen - apart from a good-sized cafetiere - and the views were fantastic. We walked along the lane and paths nearby, seeing curlews and a dozen hares! Lots to do in nearby places. We had the best holiday.

Wonderful House

We stayed at Rivercroft in July, despite the rubbish Scottish weather, we had a lovely week. The house is very well equipped and surrounded by lovely scenery, walls and areas to explore. We really loved the hot-tub and the log fire on colder evenings. The house was very clean and spacious and would recommend to any family looking for a week of calm and adventure !

Lovely week with the family

We have just returned from a lovely week with our family, including a two year old and a dog. The location of the cottage was great and the enclosed, spacious garden was great for both our grandson and the family dog. The peace and quiet was fabulous and our grandson loved the occasional tractors going past. It was easy to travel around the area from and there was plenty to see and do. Overall a great holiday making lasting family memories. Thank you.

Beautiful stay in Rivercroft

My husband and I spent nearly a week here in late September. We loved everything about the house: the Jacuzzi the fireplace the gorgeous view the bedrooms are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had a little trouble with our shower knob and they did their best to help very quickly. we can’t wait to come back.

Lovely cottage away from it all

Rivercroft is tucked away in a quiet location with dark skies and wilderness on the doorstep, yet only a short drive to some wonderful facilities, cafes, pubs and walks. Very clean, with a well equipped kitchen and very useful boot room with drying rack. The welcome pack was lovely and we enjoyed the hot tub despite the temperature outside being well into the minus!

Didn’t want to leave!

This was our 2nd stay at Rivercroft and again we loved it. Spacious, clean and very easy to feel at home in. So much so that we were fortunate enough to be able to extend our stay by a few days, many thanks to GNL and the owners. Not far from Aviemore and surrounding areas and everything you want to see and do but a wonderful tranquil place to return to where you can truly switch off and relax and simply take in the stunning views.

Wonderful house, spectecular view, perfect to find some solitude

The house is wonderful, we enjoyed the space and the nature around the house. Any questions or requests (like an extra blanket for us Germans :D ) were answered promptly. For perfect cleanliness one could remove the spiderwebs/ old bugs from the windows/ clean the windows. But other than that, we were perfectly happy. I will gladly recommend the stay at Rivercroft to friends. We would love to come back one day.

Heaven on earth

It was quite simply stunning. The location had everything. The house was cosy and beautiful, with everything you could ever need. The welcome goodies were a beautiful touch. The house was so good, it was difficult to leave it to take advantage of the amazing walks and scenery. We will be back.

Peaceful Holiday

Beautiful cottage and the location was ideal for us as we were seeking a quiet and peaceful holiday. There were two walks from the cottage but these were mainly in quiet roads and not great for letting dogs off. Just a few minor niggles that the oven and grill needed cleaning (which we did) and the hot tub cover was loose

Kites, Pine Martens and Geese

3 generations stayed at Rivercroft and there was something for everyone. The house was well equipped, modern and fit for a family. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather and our 4 year old loved the playing in the garden and the woods behind the property. Great value for money and attentive service from beginning to end.
