Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: The south coast of Cornwall's Gorran Haven, a former crab fishing community, is a great starting point for exploring the area's numerous beaches and bays. A little sandy beach in Gorran Haven, which is well-liked by families, is hidden by a conventional sea wall and connects with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide. The South West Coast Path, which runs through Gorran Haven, provides easy access to much of the coastline in this region that is held by the National Trust. Many more remote beaches are accessible on foot, as well as the 370-foot-high Dodman Point, which rises above Gorran and is believed to be one of Cornwall's most stunning headlands and the site of numerous shipwrecks. Views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east can be seen from its gorse-covered heights. As an alternative, you might like to stroll along the seaside path to Mevagissey's harbour village. Caerhays Castle is a free-form 60-acre garden on the coast close to Porthluney Bay, in a lovely setting of woods, streams, and grassland. The stunning Eden Project, Wheal Martyn Chinese Clay Museum, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Truro, a cathedral town with top-notch food and shopping options, are among nearby attractions.
