Guests might be surprised to know that the property is only 7.5 miles from J13 and J14 off the M74 motorway which accesses Glasgow and Edinburgh both within an hour.

The Wanlockhead Museum of Lead Mining is well worth a visit and offers a trip down a real lead mine. There are many spots to try your hand at gold panning and lessons are available at the Museum. Wanlockhead is located on the Southern Upland Way with some fabulous walks all around. A drive down the Mennock Pass will take your breath away as you wind your way down towards the A76 which leads you south to Dumfries and beyond or north to Sanquhar and Ayr.
