It is tucked away at the foot of Great Whernside, close to the head of Upper Wharfedale. An indication of the grandeur of its traditional landscape, with dry-stone walls and barns, significant flower-rich hay fields, and valley side woods, is that a large portion of Upper Wharfedale is held by the National Trust. The Dales Way passes close by, making this without a doubt one of the greatest places in the Dales for hiking and mountain riding.
