Town: The heart of the scenic Ceiriog Valley in Wrexham County, North Wales, is Glyn Ceiriog. There are many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in this picturesque valley, which Lloyd George once referred to as "a little piece of heaven on earth," including hiking, horseback riding, and cycling. Glyn Ceiriog, once the hub of the valley's slate mining industry, is three miles south of Llangollen and provides a good selection of neighbourhood amenities, including two village pubs, a Post Office with a cafe and tourist information, a well-stocked village store, and a community sports centre with a variety of activities like bicycle rental, tennis, indoor bowling, and table tennis. Numerous attractions are found close by, including the majestic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which is a World Heritage Site and well worth a visit.
