Million dollar mountain views Spacious Accommodations Heart of the Blue Ridge
About Sherrye Perry
Benson and I have a deep love and abiding respect for this place we call home…Madison County, NC. As stewards of 12 acres we diligently strive to maintain the integrity and improve the sustainability of our temporal home. We practice organic methods of gardening, farming and beekeeping to produce products that are good for the environment and good for consumption. We are employed full time in college and healthcare professions in Asheville so although our farming efforts are small by comparison our hopes for beneficial results are large. Benson is a rare find in many ways, one of which is a native of Madison Co. His family roots are embedded deep in this county for many generations and his love for Madison Co is genuine and pure. While my roots are firmly planted in Western North Carolina for the past 30 years I am proud of my Tennessee heritage that dates to the 1700's in Middle Tennessee (Williamson Co) and my birthplace of Nashville. Beekeeping has been a tradition on this land for the past 17 years and we are always learning more and realizing just how little we know about the pollinators of this world. Fascinated and humbled, we feel a great responsibility in their health and hope you will enjoy seeing them in their environment…at any distance you feel comfortable. Thank you for considering a stay at Gypsy Bee Cottage. Your chosen time here helps us continue our efforts of protecting and providing safe havens for the HONEYBEES!

Why Sherrye Perry chose Marshall
This spot of land spoke to me...seriously, in a small classified ad in the newspaper almost 20 years ago. As I drove to the described area I knew without a doubt that this place would become my home for how ever long I was blessed to live. It has been a labor of love with a few heartaches thrown in for a humbling amount of reality that has afforded me the pleasure of living and loving this place I call home. My hope is that you will feel the peace that is transmitted from land that has been home to generations of hard working mountain people.
What makes this House unique
On clear days the Elk Mountain range and the Blue Ridge parkway range are visible from both decks at Gypsy Bee Cottage. A quick hike to the crest of our 12 acres affords you even longer range views of the Blue Ridge which would include Craggy, Pisgah and others. Pure mountain air does wonders for the lungs and the soul and you can find that here as well. Walk and explore through our wooded path and don't be surprised if you are joined by members of our 4 legged family...Maddie, Mamie, Tyson and Bella, our loving and playful pups. You might even by followed by Lola and Gracie, our cats that have grown up with dogs and have perfected the art of "following"

Spacious guest home with beautiful views
We had a wonderful family weekend! The furnishings were unique and charming, the library was delightful, the kitchen was well appointed with granite countertops, a granite-topped island, excellent quality Cuisinart pots and pans, plus vintage Pyrex dinnerware. We enjoyed lovely views from three decks.
Rural location close to Asheville. Great for relaxing. Great porches to enjoy the view. Plenty of room.
Great place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful place and the kids had fun with the very friendly dogs. The hosts we very pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend it.
Thank you for choosing Gypsy Bee Cottage and we are happy that your stay was memorable. The pups...Bella, Mamie and Maddie send their “doggy greetings” as well.
It’s how it is described. The place is relaxing, the house is well equipped and comfortable.
We loved everything about this beautiful house! There's interesting things everywhere you look - the dogs (they don't come in the house), the books, the quilts, the soap-making materials, the antiques, and of course, the views. There's a balcony and a gorgeous deck on each level. It's also clean and roomy. We can't wait to go back.
Thanks so much and hope you all return for a visit anytime.
