The boat rocks gently and sometimes a bit more. Very relaxing and private. Everything you need is on board. Being on the water doesn’t take special skills but it helps if you are able to manouvre on and of the ship. It is a bit of an adventure and certanly not a everyday kind of stay

The host was the reason that I gave 2 stars instead of 1 but it can be described as 'roughing it' in broad terms, it is not by any sense a House Boat - nobody could live there. It's a boat, you could not stand up in places like the entry or the bathroom. The toilet didn't have a flush but a hose from the sink to drain it.My father and I arrived after taking an overnight flight from the states to Amsterdam. We relied on public transportation thinking that it was only North Amsterdam but I could've seen cows or sheep in the distance from it. On top of that a storm was rolling in and the host said that the boat would likely be going up and down quite a bit.We both read the description but didn't realize that it was more of an experience than a nice place to stay for a couple of days in the middle of nowhere. Complete mistake, the host was gracious enough to give us a ride back to the city limits as we booked a hotel space.

Spotlessly clean, really incredible experience, lovely and quiet calming environment, so comfortable with everything we needed. Host is super helpful and kind and was always there anything we wanted help with but also gave us privacy. Can’t recommend this experience enough…wish we could stay longer…we slept so well and had the best time! Loved it!

Der Aufenthalt auf dem Boot mit dem Wellengang war für uns "Landratten" eine ganz neue Erfahrung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Herzlichen Dank an unseren Gastgeber, Casey, für dieses tolle Wochenende.

Das Hauboot war ein sehr schönes Abendteuer. Es war klein, aber alles was man braucht war vorhanden. Eine kleine Küche, Kühlschrank, Bad und Bett. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Besitzer war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns ausführlich zum Bootsaufenthalt eingewiesen und war bei Fragen und Wünschen immer erreichbar, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wieder Urlaub auf dem Boot machen und können es wärmstens empfehlen.

It was our first time staying on a boat, and it was a great experience! The boat is anchored in a calm spot surrounded by nature, yet it’s only a short trip to the bustling Amsterdam city center. Our host Casey was very friendly and helped us settle in right away. We felt very welcome and can warmly recommend this accommodation if you’re up for a little adventure.

Such a fun experience

Make sure you go with someone who is open to experiencing a boat and doesn’t complain much. Other than this I loved the boat! The property owner was kind and very helpful. It is not too far from the center, 15-20min scenic walk to center. Was nice to go back to a quiet place after being in the crowded center. If you do not like spiders keep in mind it is a mass above the water, there are friendly spiders. Took Dramamine everyday and didn’t have issues, supermarket isn’t far. The rocking of the boat actually helped me sleep. Lots of rules to keep safe so keep in mind you must be serious to be on the boat as well.Thanks for the experience!

Tolle Unterkunft, sollte jeder mal gemacht haben. Die Stadt ist gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen. Wirklich toll dort. Sehr herzlicher, lieber Empfang. Würde direkt wieder hin fahren.

A wonderful time

My grandchild and I spent 3 days in Amsterdam and 2 nights on the House Boat. After being in the city of Amsterdam during the days, we looked forward to the relaxation and the quiet surroundings in the evening and during the night time.The House Boat was very cozy and very comfortable.We enjoyed the sway of the waves on the House Boat. We had never lived on a House Boat before and we loved our time on it very much.It was a great experience!Casey was a great host and he was nearby in case we needed his advice.Thank you Casey for offering your House Boat to us!We will come again !

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt auf dem Boot. Mit 3 Personen absolut ausreichend und komfortabel.Ausstattung war gut, leider gab es noch Überbleibsel der letzten Gäste und es hätte vielleicht etwas sauberer sein können.Casey war sehr aufmerksam und besorgt. Entfernung zum Bus ist in Ordnung. Leider ist das Parken nicht kostenfrei. Wir kommen bestimmt gerne noch einmal Cas

Guests need to be fit and agile.

Host warned us of potential difficulty getting on board. Boat was comfortable and well equipped. Exterior was not quite ready for guests. Some minor inconveniences didn’t spoil our stay. As sailors we found the host to be lacking in knowledge of his vessel. Public transport was close by or Uber for those of us less fit. It was great to stay away from the bustle of the city.

We will come back

The houseboat has everything you need, even if it might take a little getting used to at the beginning. Despite the bad weather with lots of rain and snow, we were very comfortable inside thanks to the heating.Casey is always available if you need anything.The city center can be reached in a 15-minute uber ride

Séjour dépaysant !

Très agréable et original ! 2 nuits passées sur le bateau de Casey, nous avons adoré dormir bercés par les vagues. Casey prend le temps de tout expliquer et se rend disponible s'il y'a le moindre problème avec le logement. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir aux beaux jours :) A bientôt Julie

Awesome host and location!

The boat was well maintained and very clean. Casey is a wonderful host. We shared some wine and Dutch cheese and watched the sunset from the boat platform. Enjoyed every minute of our stay!
