First family vacation

We had a fantastic stay here and it was our first time vacationing with our two year old. The property had beautiful views, was nicely furnished and most of all had a ton of fun locations that was a short walk for our family. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

Perfect getaway

Quiet neighborhood close to Newport. Restaurants 5 min walk. Clean and well appointed. I would certainly stay here again.

Perfect location, beautiful house. Felt like we were in our house in Newport Beach, CA however we were in Newport, RI. Amazing sunsets from the roof deck.

Lovely stay for family get together in Newport/Middletown.

We had a lovely stay. There was enough space for us to spread out. We enjoyed the back deck for our morning coffee and the rooftop deck was great for gathering with our whole family. The location was great: close to the beach and restaurants. The home was clean and homey, showing a lot of attention to detail. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a good experience.

Perfect location with fantastic view

The photos of the site did not do it justice. The property was updated, spacious and very comfortably furnished. The owners were very responsive when communicating with us. We will absolutely keep this in mind for future trips.

Perfect spot for a family vacation

We had a fantastic stay! The home was exactly as described, and even better. We enjoyed the back deck and of course the roof top. Bedrooms were large and beds were comfortable. The location is really convienent for walks to First Beach, quick drive to Newport, the cliff walk and to Second Beach. Our host were super responsive to my questions and so kind. The place is well taken care of and has everything you need.

Great Spot for Family Weekend

We really enjoyed our long weekend in Newport/Middletown. I stayed at Paul and Trisha’s apartment with my husband, young son, and in-laws. This place was perfect for our family weekend. The apartment was clean and well-equipped for making quick meals and bringing back takeout. It is in a quiet neighborhood but is conveniently located to all the great Newport and Middletown activities. It was walking distance to the Newport Marathon & Half Marathon start/finish line, which made it easy for my husband to get there and for us to walk over later to watch him finish. Paul and Trisha were very responsive to our questions. I would definitely recommend their apartment to anyone looking for a quiet but convenient place to enjoy all Newport and Middletown have to offer.

Girls weekend away!

Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this place! House was very comfortable and nicely decorated. A nice deck is located off the kitchen where we had our morning coffee and could admire the beautifully landscaped grounds. The owners were very friendly and easily accessible, answering all our questions prior to and during our stay. Location was awesome - only a couple minute walk to beach and a few restaurants. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to return to stay there again!!

Taylor’s wedding

Excellent location, spacious, clean and all the supplies, comfortable beds were excellent! The only negative was there was no central air and the window AC should have been on earlier the morning of our arrival. It was over 90 degrees upstairs and down when we arrived and everyone was sweating getting dressed for the Rehearsal dinner, at that price I was somewhat surprised! Also. More lighting needed going up the back stairs at night pith black. All the amenities appreciated, however Air conditioning in any unit is a Necessity. Thank you again for everything. Great Quiet Location

Stayed here in July to attend a wedding at nearby Mount Hope Farm. Property appears exactly as listed. We were a group of 6 and everyone was comfortable. Nice sized common spaces. The owners were quickly responsive to any concerns and even were able to accommodate our extended parking needs. It rained on our only free day to go to the beach (thanks Elsa) but the beach was just a short walk away. Many local restaurants and shops within walking distance of the house which is great due to the extremely limited parking in the community as a whole. Our only note is there is no AC and we didn’t see that in the home listing. The living room and master bedroom on the third floor (2 story apartment above a ground level apartment) contained ceiling fans so there was a nice cross breeze once the storm passed, however upon initial arrival it was a bit humid and muggy. If you can deal with no AC it’s otherwise a great property and would highly recommended.

Great location!

Walking distance to Easton beach. Property is well maintained and welcoming. Owing to close proximity to ocean and one floor up, you will experience lot of wind at night times. You will find most of the necessary things in the house (pans, wine glasses, cocktail mixer set, outdoor grill etc...). You will have to use the ladder (not stair case) to go on to the roof terrace. Flo's Clam Shack, which is in walking distance is worth the visit.

Great Location

The apartment worked out well enough. A bit noisy - need to leave windows open since no air conditioning. Kitchen was well stocked for eating in and cooking. You can walk everywhere - the beach, cliff walk and town. Love that!

We were in Newport for a family wedding and rented three of the units. They were as expected - clean, comfortable, in a great location. Would go back again. Only glitch was in communication from owners - did not receive check in information in advance and had to request it two days before our arrival, and there was confusion with another guest checking in on which unit was whose. All worked out fine, but communication between the two owners and guests could be improved.

Great House, Location & Owners

So glad we stayed here! House is conveniently located in Middletown a short walk to the beach (~5-10 min) and a short drive (5 min) to downtown newport. Clean, well-kept and it has a fantastic rooftop deck! Our group had 3 adult couples for which the place has more than enough room to spread out. Paul & Trisha were extremely pleasant to deal with, and even sent me my driver's license after I lost it in their house :) Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect for our family

Our son was graduating from Officer Candidate School. We planned to attend as well as our daughter in law, her cousin and our 14 month old granddaughter. This allowed us the comfort of room with kitchen living room and the bedroom space we needed as well as a great view from the rooftop deck. It was a very short distance to the beach and grocery stores and anything else we might need for our stay. You won't be disappointed, we certainly weren't.

We bought this property in 1997. It was very rundown. We lived on the property and did most of the renovations and landscaping ourselves with lots of help from friends and family. We have been welcoming summer renters since 1998. We live close by and continue to be very 'hands-on'. We oversee the weekly turnovers to be sure the cottages are clean and well maintained. We are easily reached to solve any problems or answer questions for our guests.

Trisha grew up in the Newport area and Paul grew up on the shoreline of Connecticut. Many years ago we were thrilled to find a 'fixer-upper' so close to the ocean. We take great pride in having created a unique vacation spot for so many of our returning renters and look forward to meeting new renters every year.

Paul's gardens are what all our renters comment on and make our place special. When you walk through the gate, behind the hedge, the landscaping will charm you. Seashell paths, arbors, roses, hydrangeas, daisies, blueberry bushes, covered decks, butterflies, birds, bunnies and more create a serene and unforgettable place to relax and unwind.
