Perfect location very short walk to beach
Our stay was perfect. Very easy to use codes for gate and entrance to hotel. The rooms were perfect. The kitchen and living space was very open and nice. The pool was very nice and easy accessible and very clean. Best part was the walk to the beach. Perfect!

We'll be back to Emerald Isle, but not in this unit
We've stayed at Emerald Isle many times since the year it was built, but never in this particular unit. We were provided the wrong pool code and lobby code, so not off to a good start. We knew we needed a parking pass, but there was no mention of it from VRBO or Southern and there were none in the unit. Luckily we only had one vehicle this year and no one questioned us about not having one.
The unit appeared standard and clean. We enjoy cooking as opposed to eating out every night, but after seeing there were only bare necessities in the unit, we did very little cooking. Typically there are a few basic items either provided or left behind by other guests like coffee filters, more than one dish towel, laundry detergent, one roll of paper towels, etc. This unit had none of those things. We checked in late, so a coffee filter and a packet of coffee would have been nice first thing in the morning.
The master bedroom had a reoccurring noise above the ceiling that was practically unbearable to sleep through at night. It sounded like huge drops of water falling on the top of an empty paint can and got worse when the winds increased. My husband and I were forced to sleep on the sofa bed with earplugs and the master bedroom door shut. For me, that does not equate to a relaxing, comfortable vacation. I'm glad we were only there for a long weekend and not an entire week. I'm sure we'll be back to Emerald Isle, but we will NOT be back to this specific unit. That noise alone is enough to keep us from renting that unit again. It's a real shame because the view was amazing!
