Thank you so much for considering Mile High Carriage House for your Denver stay. We have a beautifully furnished 1 bedroom, queen size, 1 full bathroom + queen sleeper sofa in an upstairs carriage house with a wall of windows facing a tree lined park. Also, if you have a furry child, we are steps to a fantastic neighborhood DOG PARK where both you and your dog can get plenty of socialization with our wonderful neighbors and their pups! If bringing a pup, there are rules to be followed, so please read below.

Our carriage house has its own street entrance that is separate from our main house with a separate address as well. It is located above our detached garage. In our garage, we have quiet open, soft close doors, however, you may faintly hear occasional car doors close and car starting. We have thoughtfully furnished this space to ensure a cozy, cottage feel where you can retreat from life or embrace the downtown proximity to a plethora of coffee shops, restaurants, bakeries, breweries, parks and shops.

We are located in a very diverse, residential neighborhood 1-2 miles from the zoo, Nature & Science museum and Union Station/16th Street mall in the heart of downtown. We have a bus stop located just a quarter block from the door that can take you downtown and the light rail train station 6 blocks (an 8 minute walk) which will take you anywhere light rail extends. We are a 10 minute walk to the closest Denver B-cycle station; we have many stations throughout the city. We are an extended walk to RINO (River North Arts District), Uptown, City Park and Five Points or you are welcome to just relax and unwind at your home away from home. We have a washer/dryer in the unit along with new, premium stainless steel appliances, throughout, a 50 inch 4K SMART TV in the living space where, in addition to cable, you can access your Netflix, Hulu and other subscription services. We also have a smaller TV in the bedroom for the full R&R experience. As a bonus, we've been complimented on the height of our shower head so tall people don't have to be inconvenienced! We've tried to think of all your comforts for an enjoyable stay!

There is a private patio area just for the carriage house with table/chairs, umbrella and a BBQ to enjoy the 300 days of Sunshine we get in the Mile High City. We are still in the midst of planting trees and flowers in this space, but you'll be able to sit outside with a park view. We have 2 bikes and 2 helmets we offer once we have a signed waiver in place prior to use.

I have high standards for cleanliness and I treat our carriage house how I would want to be welcomed to a place I am staying: quilt, duvet cover, bath rugs, sofa blanket, throws are washed after every guest. Even our furniture gets steam cleaned and our floors steamed at least once a month, so please know the cleaning fee goes towards our cleaning crew who does a marvelous job to ensure you are staying in a very well-maintained place. If you are bringing a dog, there are absolutely NO PEE PADS to be used inside and your dog MUST be taken across the street to the park to use the restroom at all times as we have zero grass on the grounds of the carriage house, only mulch and a patio. We have cameras all throughout the exterior of our property and, if these rules aren't followed, you forfeit your deposit. We have had lovely guests stay with their furry pups, which has allowed us to continue renting to guests with dogs and we want to continue to welcome pups until these rules are no longer followed, then we will cease welcoming pups to our carriage house.

Also, kindly understand that power outages (thankfully has never happened to a guest, to date) are out of our control, as are internet outages, cable or anything else beyond our control if it is a block, neighborhood or city wide outage. We hope no one experiences it, but as a guest kindly understand we will likely be far more distraught than you if this should occur, and know, that when booking our carriage house, we will do everything on our end to ensure these are all in working order, but outages do happen and we cannot be held responsible.

About Kelly

I formerly worked on Wall Street on the trading floor of several Global Investment banks running a department for all of Americas and then moved into the Tech world when I relocated to Denver. I quit my job in 2015 in the midst of our build to stay home with our 2 young kiddos. My husband is in Telecom and branched outside his comfort zone to design every aspect of our home. You will find us out and about at the park with our dog and kiddos when the weather is nice, biking, enjoying all that Denver offers and working on projects around the house. We, thoroughly, enjoy meeting/talking with neighbors and our guests, if you so choose!

Our guests with furry friends LOVE the dog park just across the street. The carriage house offers a cozy feel offering total privacy. Many have commented on our TALL shower head, all the windows that bring in so much light and those park views!

Exceeded Expectations!

I am not a heavy VRBO user but if this is the typical experience I will be. The owners were accessible, accommodating, professional and kind. The property is brand new and immaculate. Location is central to everything we wanted to see in Denver. We had our dog Nala with us and the home is conveniently located across the street from a beautiful park that included a dog park. A+ experience and strongly recommend.

Wonderful Stay- Great Location!

We stayed here in September for 3 days and it was fantastic. Consistent with the pictures provided on the VRBO website, this gem is like new and comfortably modern. There is a nice park right across the street which was great for our pup to explore. The location was perfect to downtown Denver and the many restaurants close by.

Kelly was a very friendly, gracious, and accommodating host who ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. We definitely recommend this property and will be back.

Don't Miss This Gem!

Kelly's carriage house apartment is as pictured and described: immaculate, cozy, comfortable, secure, exceptionally well-equipped. We stayed for a weekend prior to going up to the mountains and have several family members in Denver, so we were in and out of the apartment quite a bit and didn't need (or have time) to use the well-stocked kitchen or the entertainment features. We travel with our two small dogs, and having the park right across the street was super-convenient for their necessary business. I took them to the park several times a day, from early morning (pre-sunrise) to late night, with no safety concerns at any time. Similarly, we experienced no problems at all with the on-street parking (Kelly has "negotiated" with the neighbors to provide a space right in front of the carriage house door), and the electronic door lock is very easy to use.

Kelly provides a tablet on the kitchen counter that contains lots of instructions (WIFI, housekeeping expectations, clean-up/checkout) and local eating/entertainment suggestions. Look for it when you arrive, and it'll answer most of your questions. Not recognizing it for what it was/contained, I pestered Kelly with a couple of early phone calls that I might have avoided ... but she was unfailingly gracious and kind anyway!

The apartment is well-located, convenient to downtown, parks, museums, etc. and about five minutes from the freeway. The people we met in the neighborhood (casually) were friendly and polite.

One note: it's an upstairs apartment, so you have to be able/willing to climb steps. Not an issue for us, but something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns.

All in all, Kelly's apartment is a gem and was exceptionally well-suited to our needs while in Denver. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with their stay here.

Thank you for appreciating our gem of a neighborhood, park and carriage house. I assure you, you didn't pester me at all - we are here to make sure you have the most seamless get-away and are happy to answer any and all questions. You and your wife and pups were lovely guests! Thank you for going above and beyond and drying AND folding the sheets upon departure. That was a lovely surprise that, I tell you as a host, is certainly not expected, but leaves us feeling appreciated. Thank you for adhering to parking instructions. While we haven't "negotiated" anything, per se, we've just found if our guests are respectful, it helps not to create a parking cluster on our block and works for everyone, which is pretty unique given it's city parking. We've thought about finding out if our stairs are at the 5280 mark somewhere and "marking" the one that would claim the fame to our altitude status, but we might not even be close, who knows? I definitely mention them in our listing as well as pictures in case anyone has issues with stairs, but another mention is great!! I hope the rest of your trip turned out better than expected!

Very nice and close to everything

The house was super cute and perfect for a couple getaway. Kelly was great, super friendly, easy to get a hold of, and was always trying to offer more. This house was perfect for visiting Denver, we woke up early each morning and drove out of town for hiking/exploring and later came back to town for dinner and breweries 1 mile away from the house. The park across the street was perfect for our dog as well. It was so much fun!

Nice location and lodging in the heart of Denver.

We spent 3 nights in here when we visited Denver. The owner was friendly and has a nice, clean property. The location is great if you have lots of activities planned near downtown Denver like we had. It's minutes from the heart of Downtown and fairly centrally located. The neighborhood was pretty nice and we felt safe there. We also really liked the park right across the street which my daughter played at quite a bit. The kitchen is well stocked. I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to stay near downtown Denver!
