Situated in Onich, Roe Cottage serves as an ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Scottish Highlands. The iconic Glencoe, where rugged mountains and serene lochs create a landscape that has captivated visitors for centuries, it is the ideal spot for those that enjoy walking or climbing, Fort William, home to Ben Nevis. For those seeking a seaside adventure, Mallaig & the stunning beaches nearby are also within reach, as is the famous Steam Train that was used in the Harry Potter films and the Glenfinnan Viaduct which you can board from Fort William, but please, book well in advance.
A ferry to Mull & Iona where charming villages like Tobermory await, showcasing colourful facades and a vibrant maritime atmosphere. Further south, the bustling town of Oban invites you to explore its historic sites, including the impressive McCaig’s Tower, and indulge in fresh seafood at its renowned seafood restaurants. For those that enjoy cycling there is a cycle path that you can join and cycle down to Oban, going past Castle Stalker, Barcaldine Castle, Dunstaffnage Castle & a Dunollie Castle.
