There’s also a bathroom with a bath shower upstairs with an additional boot room downstairs with a shower and toilet. Guests will enjoy evenings sat in the living room, relaxing in front of the wood burner after a day’s wandering and exploring, and meals can be prepared and enjoyed in the well-equipped kitchen, complemented by a dishwasher ensuring a quick and easy clean up. There is a private small garden for enjoying the Scottish summers, with lovely views over the fields and donkeys in residence most of the time. The wildlife is amazing and truly makes you feel connected to nature.

If a special meal is required the nearby hotel is just a few hundred yards away, while the local Inn serves great locally sourced pub food. Nearby in the village of Chirnside has local shops and a chippy, and there are several very good pubs in surrounding towns, which also offer more to guests by way of cafes, restaurants and attractions to suit everyone. Trips over the border to Berwick Upon Tweed and Northumberland are a must. Some of the UK’s most beautiful beaches and historical sites such as Mandleston or Paxton Castle are found within the surrounding area.

Edinburgh is an hour by car, or the railway service also runs every day to Edinburgh from Reston in the next village and buses go from outside the cottage into Berwick Upon Tweed, Edinburgh and the villages. Beautiful St Abbs Beach and the national park are 10 miles away and there are seaside amusements for families and a swimming pool at both nearby Eyemouth and Dunbar. It is very well served by 5-star golf courses at Eyemouth, Duns, Berwick, the Hersel at Coldstream and many others.
