The Stables Lower Cottages are located on the ground floor of a newly converted 200 year old traditional stone stables block on the private Auchendennan estate at the south west of Loch Lomond. Within walking distance of The Cruin, Duck Bay and Cameron House Wedding venues and just a short car journey to Luss and Boturich Castle, ideal for those wanting short breaks away or if you are attending a wedding.

These cottages benefit from a king size double bed, a modern fully fitted kitchen with all the facilities for self catering; 32" SMART T.V with Freeview tv package, and free wi-fi.

Free parking within 20 meters of cottage.

Great location and dog friendly

Lovely little stay

We booked it for bonfire night and brought my two dogs and it was the perfect location for being secluded away off the road, had everything we needed and the enclosed garden was perfect for letting the dogs outside

A very nice place, with lots to explore nearby.

We were able to check in slightly earlier than advertised. There was ample parking space and the cottage we stayed in had a small garden. It was cozy, clean and well maintained. A short walk and you have some stunning views of the Loch ans surrounding countryside. Checkout was also simple, we would definitely come again.

For one night only

Stayed here for one night on our long journey up from Manchester to the Highlands. Lovely quiet spot on the outskirts of Balloch, close to the country park and Castle where we went with our dogs. Parking was plentiful and check-in very easy. Essential coffee, tea and milk were provided which was ideal for our one night stop over. Only downside to the location was the spotty network but nothing in the control of the accommodation owners.

We booked out every property for our wedding guests in April and we would highly recommend Auchendennan Farm. Angela, James and the whole team are so kind, helpful and relaxed. Every property was in super condition, clean, the location is fantastic and we would definitely return for our own holiday!

Again, another fantastic stay in Cottage Lower 6. A very enjoyable 5 days in a super comfortable cottage. With a small private well fenced garden, absolutely brilliant for our wee dogs. A big thank you to Angela and her team, looking forward to our next visit.

Very enjoyable stay

Cottage is spotlessly clean and so comfortable. If you’re looking for peace and tranquility this is for you. Dog friendly and nice walks around you. A 10 minute lovely walk by the side of the loch to Duck Bay Marina and Cameron House. The cottage also had an enclosed garden which was great for our two wee dogs. I have been here twice and can’t fault it and look forward to returning again.

Short break

We had a lovely stay here. Would highly recommend. Very clean comfortable and all you need for a self-catering break. The location is absolutely lovely scenery is amazing. We had our shopping delivered hassle free.

Great stay at the Stables

We had a great stay in a nice, clean, well-equipped apartment with garden on the ground floor at the Stables. We did not book long in advance and were happy that the place was available for one night at short notice. There was no one at the reception when we arrived but finding the place and getting in was easy as a sign with my name was on the door. .

Friendly owners. clean, well equipped one bedroom cottage. The cottage was ideal for my husband and I and our German shepherd dog, open plan kitchen, diner, living room, with a glass door leading to an enclosed garden. Great value for money. We will definitely return

fabulous cottages

We stayed in cottage no 6. it was spotless, spacious, well maintained, the area is very secure with cameras and staff are approachable and friendly ( gordon the gardener is lovely) our cottage had a secure small garden which was perfect for our yappy dachshund we had a fabulous time, great walk beside the cottages all v relaxing, and we actually came back in the evenings to cook as the cottage was so comfortable. Definitely will be back

Absolutely brilliant, we have already booked for our next holiday, so relaxing

We loved the accommodation, absolutely brilliant for our wee poodles. Very comfortable king size bed, fabulous shower, lovely kitchen, private garden completely fenced in for our dogs. Outside patio area with bench table and chairs, a real sun trap in the evenings, a barbecue there if required, we did not use it but good to have it. We re-booked for our next visit before we left with Angela, can’t wait for our next visit to this lovely cottage. Angela is a lovely helpful lady, would rate our stay 10 out of 10 or more if it was possible

Lovely accommodation. Enjoyed our trip.

When we arrived, the office was closed as it was a Sunday. We were told where we could find our key with clear instructions in an email. The cottage was absolutely spotless and so cosy on arrival. Lovely and surprisingly quiet considering it’s so close to a main road. When we checked out, the office was again closed so we left our key on the outside of our door. Would have been nice to see a member of staff on arrival or departure but that’s the only small complaint I have. It’s a lovely area with nice walks and very handy for the duck bay restaurant just along the road which had delicious meals and cocktails. We will hopefully be able to return!!xx

A nice little place to stay

Overall a nice little place to stay and having the garden was fantastic as we had our dogs with us, a definite positive. There are a few things to mention in the hope this will improve the experience for future stays. When we arrived, we had to remove the rubbish that had been left by the cleaners from the cottage ourselves. Not a major issue but not something we were expecting to do. Unfortunately there was also some dog poo left in the garden which must have been from previous visitors, we had to remove this too. Sadly the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I would really advice a new mattress is provided for future guests. This would honestly put us off staying again as we didn't get any decent nights sleep sadly. It can't be helped but you can also hear the other guests quite loudly upstairs when they are in. It might be worth looking at the shower doors, these do not meet and the gap in the doors means water exits the shower onto the bathroom floor. Overall it was a really nice little spot to stay and we would not hesitate to recommend to others, especially those bringing their dogs, but we would recommend the above to be considered for future stays.
