The house is well appointed, with plenty of outdoor space, a choice of outside dining spots and a very nice pool. Indoors, there is a comfortable lounge area, a large dining area and a good kitchen. The a/c is very good (essential during our visit as the temperature went to 39degrees for a few days. The village is very quiet but has a great local restaurant down by the canal, strong recommendation to go there. Overall we loved it, Narbonne and especially Carcassonne are excellent for a day visit, but plenty of other options too.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Jon. You had some amazing weather during your stay and it sounds like you made the most of exploring this area of France.
I’m glad you enjoyed the restaurant in the village, we are so lucky to have it within walking distance.
We hope to see you again if you are in this area in the future.

The villa exceeded our expectations across the board, everything was as described, we could not of asked for more, bring our first villa vacation & having a toddling grandchild this place was very child friendly, just ask the many traumatised lizards haha, the local wineries are amazing & a must visit, the pub was like stepping back in time very rustic & had some rather intersting artifacts & beverages. This villa was a hidden gem in a quite yet very interesting 14th century village, Paul was a perfect host & communication was exceptional, his assistants in situ were on call as required & couldnt do enough to help.

It was genuinely a pleasure to have you and your family / friends to stay Barry. It was lovely to hear what you were interested in doing during your stay, and to be able to share our knowledge of the local area with you. You took great care of the villa and left it clean and tidy. You are welcome back any time.

Super sejour.

About the host

For me, the villa is a home away from home. I love spending time there and totally detaching from normal busy life. It’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to share it with others, and I hope you get the same enjoyment out of it as I do.
I’m still having fun exploring this area of France. I enjoy hearing what guests do whilst staying at the villa. The villa guidebook (issued 1 month before your arrival date) is packed full of things to do in the local area. It’s regularly updated.
Why they chose this property
This area of France has always been special to me; I proposed to my wife in Carcassonne.
Argens-Minervois is a peaceful village ideally situated half-way between Carcassonne and Narbonne you can enjoy both the Mediterranean coast and historical sites, getting the best of both worlds. The weather is great, scenery beautiful and there is so much to do; whether you want a chilled out holiday or a vacation packed full of activities.
The Aude region is all about the vineyards, and you are spoilt for choice for Minervois and Corbieres wines. Late August and September are a hive of activity as the grape harvests are collected. The vineyards are particularly spectacular in November with their striking autumnal colours and vivid sunsets.
There are great transport links; the village isn’t far from the motorway, there’s a train station in Lezignan-Corbieres, and the closest airports are either Beziers or Carcassonne. Airports slightly further away are Toulouse, Montpellier or Perpignan.
What makes this property unique
The villa has all the practical things you’ll need for a great holiday. It’s designed for easy, sociable living with an open plan living space, bedrooms and bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs and plenty of outside space for enjoying Mediterranean life.
The villa is on the edge of a quiet, peaceful village and isn’t overlooked. Within a short walk you can reach the canal du midi, walk around the local lake and up into the woods and hills, partake in some wine-tasting and enjoy two restaurants on the banks of the canal.
