Beautiful views from the kitchen deck of this three story home located on a hilltop in Lead, SD is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or have an outdoor BBQ. The front door of this home opens onto a loft style living room with a natural gas fireplace and TV with cable. The main level houses the full size kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher stocked with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, silverware - all you need to bring is the food! Accommodations for up to 10 guests with three bedrooms and one additional loft sleeping area along with 3 1/2 bathrooms. The master bedroom features a king Tempur-pedic bed and its own bathroom. The 2nd bedroom on the upper level has a king size bed. An additional loft sleeping area has a queen bed with views of the hills. The downstairs bedroom has one full size bed and one queen bed. The downstairs family room has a gaming area with a Foosball table, sectional couch, Harley Davidson table and chairs, and a TV. Walk out from here to the 6 person hot tub and outdoor patio area. The home is located right next to both an ATV and snowmobile trail head and 5 miles to Terry Peak Ski Area. In addition, this is a great place to base yourself for touring the Black Hills including visiting Historic Deadwood, taking the scenic drive through Spearfish Canyon, and visiting Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments.

It was a beautiful trip to bring the kids and grandkids to! The house was immaculate and just exactly what we needed. I appreciate the fenced in balcony so that the Littles could run around and get some exercise and be safe. We sure hated to leave check in and check out was easy and we had everything we could imagine in the kitchen in order to cook some great meals there which we did. Really convenient to everything we wanted to see, and we really enjoyed the wildlife coming up to the porch each morning and evening we saw the cutest turkey mama with her babies, following her one evening. The babies really enjoyed seeing all the deer and wildlife too. And the flowers there are beautiful.

This place was perfect for our group! The host was friendly and easy to reach. There was plenty of off road parking for our trailers and ATVs. The neighbor was super friendly. Lots of wildlife in the neighborhood. The hot tub was a welcomed site after long days of going on trails. The house is close to a gas station and grocery store.

Gorgeous Hilltop Setting

This home is impressively well-equipped and super clean! The beds are very comfortable and the furniture is too! We loved the large dining table with the lazy susan in the center...so helpful! An extra fridge in the garage was much appreciated. The hilltop setting is perfect for excellent views of the city, wildlife...and fireworks too! One friendly mention: the garage lights were not working and could use a fix.

Extra Guest Fee

This cabin was the first one we have stayed in that was actually located near Lead. It was very convenient and a lot cheaper for taxi fares. We had a larger group, but everyone still had enough space. The view from the deck and hot tub area was breathtaking. My only issue was being charged a fee for any guest over the number of six. I did not see an explanation in the cabin detail to what the extra guest fee entailed until after my bill came and I asked the manager. It could have been my fault for assuming that anyone over the allotted capacity of ten would be charged that a fee. Other than that issue it was a very nice place to stay and I would recommend booking to anyone traveling to the Black Hills in the future.

8 of us stayed for family ski weekend, enjoyed hot tub, TVs in every bedroom/basement/living room, master bedroom with own bath and 2 1/2 additional baths, kitchen was loaded with all the dishes & supplies we needed, kitchen table size, game room were all perfect. Michelle was great to work with and accommodating when we were unsure we’d make it due to +2’ of snow arriving and interstates closed. Wish a few things were made more clear.... The picture shows double garage but upon arrival during a 28” winter storm, learned we weren’t able to use it. Did not read that on VRBO posting. The city streets to house are very narrow and were not plowed when arrived, thank goodness we had SUV with 4wd, steep hills barely made it. VRBO listing said no pets but we picked white pet hair off our clothes and snow gear daily. Bed in master suite is memory rock hard foam.
