A newly updated chalet nestled in a historic property minutes from Main Street Hendersonville, NC. Come enjoy privacy in the mountains while still being close to shops, restaurants, and mountain activities. This 1 bedroom, 1 bath chalet is cozy and accommodating. You have a full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and a 400 sq. ft. deck to enjoy the mountain air and starry nights. The property holds a lot of history that can be seen in the stonework of the chalet and the original heart pine wood floors. The main house on the property was originally built around the mid 19th century by Reverend Charles Cotesworth Pinckney from Charleston, SC. It sold to Henry Middleton, who was close friends with Carl Sandburg. When the original house burned down in 1949 it was Sandburg who came to assist, signing every book that was saved from the blaze. This property has historical significance with owners having deep roots with founders of United States. A wonderful getaway for anyone who loves history and tranquility. This is a perfect getaway spot for 2 in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The pristine, peaceful and comfortable studio home was so perfect!
Our 2 night stay in this updated lovely space was just right! It was close to a wedding nearby. We toured Carl Sandburg ‘s property very close by and enjoyed a fantastic lunch in Hendersonville, NC. Although residents of North Carolina we were delighted to discover new places to explore and relax.
Better than a 5 star hotel !!!
The chalet is perfect for two! Very clean and comfortable. Ample parking to park a trailer for our motorcycle. We own a trike and the weather was perfect for riding. We even made a day trip to the "Tail of the Dragon." We were here during the Apple Festival, great location, far enough away from Hendersonville to avoid the crowds and traffic, but close enough to still visit the festival. The chalet has a large deck that overlooks the property which is great for lounging in the evenings and early mornings before starting your day! Flat Rock is a great little town, everyone is so friendly. Fantastic dining in town or away from town. In Fletcher there is a little restrauant name Kosta's which has awesome food! If you come to Hendersonville you must visit Kosta's Restarurant👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We stayed for 8 nights and we had an awesome time!
We are so glad you chose to stay with us for your vacation! Even better that you discovered all the wonderful features that make the chalet a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying our local area of Hendersonville and Flat Rock. A bonus Labor Day weekend is the annual Apple Festival!! Yes, this area is perfect for bicycles, trikes and motorbikes - glad you were able to enjoy yours!
A Chalet in the Woods
As a single person who likes to take short, 2-3 day breaks from life, this chalet was perfect! Nestled in the woods, and among finely manicured property, the setting is idyllic. I spent most of my morning/evening times on the deck, looking out over the greenery. It's kinda small - more like a studio apartment - but if you plan to just rest & relax, this is the place. And you're only 5 minutes from the Carl Sandburg Home & Flat Rock; 10 minutes from Hendersonville. Easy to find with GPS.
Thank you for choosing the chalet to rest and relax! We are glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice, clean, quiet get-away! Very comfy bed! Wonderful deck!
Only suggestion would be to add a microwave. Otherwise - perfect!!
The chalet now has a MICROWAVE! Thank you for choosing the chalet! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Amazing place to stay
Amazing is all we can say.
Thank you for choosing to vacation at the chalet!
Comfy and Peaceful Retreat
The Chalet is a wonderful place to get away for some peace and quiet, and yet, close to town for dining, groceries, etc. It is spacious, clean, and well kept with an awesome deck out back overlooking a meadow surrounded by trees with a slight mountain view beyond. We enjoyed watching the daily visit by the resident groundhog foraging in the meadow. We even saw a couple of deer wandering the grounds. We didn't find out until the evening before we were leaving that there are bike trails on the mountain we could have taken advantage of for evening or morning walks. We will be sure to check them out on our next stay here.
Glad you enjoyed your stay at the chalet! Hope you make it back soon!
