The flat is plumb in Covent Garden on St Martin’s Lane. Trafalgar Square is about 50m away, passing a theatre, shops, bars, a gym and the Opera House. To your right are Garrick Street and Leicester Square, including the tube stop, about 30m away. Further along is Seven-Dials, a large supermarket Tesco 40m from the flat. Chinatown is 150m away, and Piccadilly Circus is the same. Regents Park with the lake is 400m with Buckingham Palace beyond. Oxford St is 500m away. On your doorstep are restaurants, bars, theatres and the National Gallery, with the British Museum a leisurely walk through the historical Covent Garden walkways. There are plenty of rental cycles available. The embankment and Thames river boats 10m walk.

The property is safe and secure, with a police station close by and regular patrols. It is accessible via a fob with a video-based intercom system.

Public Transport: Leicester Square, Charing Cross and Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Sq near.

Please note that sofa was replaced and for the 3rd guest there is an air bed upon request

great location, utilitarian unit

Location, location, location! It doesn't get any better than this. There is only one photo on VRBO for this home and its not accurate. It's not the same furniture. It's a very acceptable, clean enough place for the price. Very special location. Very utilitarian unit. I had trouble with the TV and did not receive any communication from the owner after I sent a message. A little sprucing up would go a long way. I assumed the location was keeping her in business.

It was appalling, the photos online were obviously years and years old . None of the furniture is the same it’s old broken and covered in stains . The bedding is years old and so thin you could see through to the dirty mattress it was creased and just chucked on the bed . The bathroom was dirty the door was thick with dirt and the shower door didn’t open so you would not have managed to get in and out of the so called hot tub bath , which was a bog standard bath and dirty at that . The two towels provided were thread bare and dirty and smelt too. There were broken handles damaged windows which were mouldy and the fridge smelt discussing , to be honest to many things to list. We left within 10 mins of being there and managed to get a last minute booking at the middle 8 hotel instead. I am now trying for compensation but as of yet the lady still hasn’t responded.

You learn from your mistakes - Honest people rare to find?

The good: the property was clean overall, the location is excellent, close to Trafalgar Square. The bad (written after a lot of hesitation, but out of moral obligation to help): property not properly advertised. 1) The kitchen is minuscule and in a closed non ventilated space. To use the stove/oven, you have no choice but shut the kitchen door to make yourself space to stand. Imagine the heat that is generated in such a small space, with no AC! So essentially not usable for cooking. 2) Toilet: problem with the flushing system. It takes more than 20 minutes to have the tank fill-up in between 2 flushes, so you better not have frequency and urgency. 3) WiFi: none in the apartment. You have to count on the open access WiFi of an affluent neighboring restaurant. When the restaurant is empty, you can have some WiFi. When it is busy and full,you cannot get any meaningful WiFi signal. 4) The couch is not the one in the picture. Old and stained. Same for the window treatments. Same for the armoire in the hallway...5) End of story: I had to leave after 1 night and get a hotel. Unfortunately the owners would not acknowledge the problems and would not reimburse the unused nights. After several attempts, and no responses, I had to give-up. Learned lesson: do not rely on pictures and make sure you get into all the small details before you book. Message to the owners: a minimum of decency and honesty would not have hurt you. I hope you fix all this and the next customer will be happier.
