Nestled in the serene landscape of Porto Santo Stefano, this exquisite villa offers a breathtaking retreat for those seeking tranquillity and beauty. Surrounded by lush gardens that bloom with vibrant colors, the property is a haven of peace, with rolling hills providing a picturesque backdrop. The house comes with three bedrooms, one queen and two double twin bedrooms, a fully furnished kitchen with all that is needed to make excellent lunches or dinners. Adjacent to the house there is a marvellous pergola with an attached space with a refrigerator. There is also a full size swimming pool enclosed in a deck with a spectacular view of the harbour and the village of Porto Santo Stefano. The location is ideal for a total breakaway from city life, and, if you love hiking and bicycling, the Argentario offers several hike trails and bicycle challenge

I was born and raised in Italy before moving to the U.S. almost twenty years ago. My parents have always taken me to Porto Santo Stefano for the summer holidays and it is still my favourite location to go. I still go there every late spring or during the fall to enjoy a break from work. There are several breathtaking locations where you can enjoy rock beaches or sandy beaches, up to you.
Why they chose this property
I bought this house last year because of its unique position and because of some facts that make this property unique.
What makes this property unique
It was originally built in the late 1800s as a shelter for the local peasants and was the only two storey building in Monte Argentario until the end of WWII. The previous owner had completely remodeled the house and turned it into the property that you see today. It also contains the remains of ancient furnaces (hence the name of the street "via delle Fornaci") where bricks were made for local construction in the nearby village.
The property, almost three hectares of land, is populated with olive trees and a hiking path to an old platform used during the war to spot any aircrafts.
