About Kathy Laferriere
I am a licensed Realtor in NC.
Kathy Laferriere purchased this House in 2017
Why Kathy Laferriere chose Silver Hill
I bought this property because I love lake living. I especially enjoy boating (pontooning); kayaking, canoeing, swimming and hanging out watching the geese and ducks fly by as well as all the other birds. Grilling and chilling on the covered deck is my idea of a good relaxing time.
What makes this House unique
on the main channel; two free boat ramps for the larger part of of High Rock Lake as well as the portion this property is on when the water is too high to pass under Highway 8 bridge. Easy access to restaurant, shopping, movie theaters, vineyards, breweries, museums and many other items of interest. Property has cable and internet.

Charming Lake Cottage
This cottage was perfect in every way for my stay. I am a Travel Nurse and was on a three month assignment. Everything I wanted and needed was available. The owner was so nice and helpful. She has thought of everything. The scenery is beautiful and there is a large back deck to enjoy it from. Thank you so much for the use of your great cottage.
Thank you, Jane. We so enjoyed having you stay through the winter and hope more of your Traveling Nurse friends will consider renting our home for a longer time frame as you did. The home is so cozy and easy to keep up. Please let us know if you return to the area as we would love to stay in touch.
Did you try the new Diner down Highway 8? Food is great and so quaint.
Beautiful home and location
Kathy was very helpful and accommodating of our group. The home had plenty of space and was in an unbeatable location. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
We are glad you enjoyed the home and had a good time with your family.
Thank you for your awesome review, we appreciate that.
Warm regards, Kathy

Very nice, quiet, comfortable cottage on High Rock lake
Very much enjoyed this property. Was a great place to relax, and "put my feet up." Even though I did have to bring work with me......sitting on the covered deck, with a very nice view of the lake, made having to do some work much more tolerable! The house sits near the end of a dead end street, so it is very peaceful. It is up on a small ridge, so the back looks out over the lake with stairway access down to the dock area. The house itself is very clean and comfortable, the kitchen is quite well stocked if you plan on "eating in" as opposed to going out. The location is near a number of restaurants both around the area of the lake itself (NC Hwy 8 and Bringle Ferry Road) and the city of Lexington, which is about a 10-15" drive on NC Hwy 8 at the most. Two of the bedrooms are located upstairs, and there is no bathroom on the upstairs level, so just something to consider....There are two bathrooms downstairs, washer/dryer, towels etc... again, well supplied for their guests. One suggestion might be adding a television for the upstairs? Plenty of parking out front and the parking area is flat, so very easy carrying your belongings, groceries into the house; plus the driveway is a circular drive, so easy in and out. The owner Kathy was great to work with and very responsive to e-mails, texts, phone calls, any questions that came up. She also checked in with me after my arrival to make sure everything was as expected. Would highly recommend this property if you are planning to spend some time on High Rock Lake. Thanks again Kathy!
Thank you Karen for your detailed and thoughtful review. I am going to put a smart t.v. on the main floor and put the current t.v upstairs with a DVD player. I am happy you got to enjoy the harvest moon on the lake which is extra special to see. I hope you will return and refer to your friends and family. Warm regards, Kathy
Wonderful family weekend, we'll be back!
We decided to get away with our two college kids for Labor Day weekend. Kathy was able to meet our last minute timeline in a very friendly and welcoming manner. This adorable lakefront cottage has been recently remodeled with all new flooring and upgrades to the enormous lakefront porch and dock. We were able to pick up milk and produce at the Food Lion a few miles away. Kathy checked in with me once we were settled and then offered us a late checkout on our departure day which made leaving a lot more relaxing.
Things we loved: plenty of parking, quiet neighborhood, deep water, coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening on the porch, an incredibly complete kitchen (it's unusual to find baking pans in a rental, Kathy even has muffin pans!), high speed internet for our kids to do homework.
Things that would make it perfect: a dishwasher, a spot inside to play cards if bugs or weather chase you in off the porch, hanging space in the master bedroom for longer stays.
Things we hated: leaving...seriously, I wish we could have stayed for a week or a month with our kids.
Lexington is famous for BBQ; many choices of restaurants as well as vineyards and breweries.
