About the property

Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 6

Relax in style in this lovely DC home, located just minutes from Capitol Hill and the must-see H St. Corridor, and just a short metro ride from the museums. This modern space offers accommodations for up to 6 guests, and is stocked with amenities such as smart TVs for your Netflix or Hulu viewing pleasure, an Amazon Echo, a backyard fire-pit, and a high-end fully-equipped kitchen. All in a location that’s close to the heart of everything DC has to offer!

The Space:

Experience life as a local and truly enjoy your next DC vacation with a stay at this beautiful 2-story row home. You’ll find that comfort and privacy abound in this private home, which offers luxurious amenities and that extra special touch you won’t find at other rentals in the area.

The central location puts you close to all of the fun, excitement, and history found in the city, while providing you with plenty of space for relaxation. You’ll be located in a residential neighborhood that showcases the diversity that Washington D.C has become known for. Enjoy hanging out in the backyard after a long day of sightseeing, put your favorite movie on the flat-panel Roku TV, or order some take-out with the Amazon Echo while listening to your favorite music. The living area is also business-ready with a desk available should you need to get some work done during your stay.

Just off the kitchen is a dining area with seating for four. Enjoy a quick breakfast or an espresso before visiting DC’s landmarks, or enjoy a dinner prepared in the fully-stocked kitchen. The updated kitchen includes quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, including dishwasher and gas range, and is fully stocked with essentials including cookware, dishware, and utensils. There is a beautiful fenced backyard for getting some fresh air, where you'll also find a full-size grill and gas fire-pit for enjoying this outdoor space. There you can also feel free to pick whatever fresh herbs, fruits or vegetables you might find ready to harvest!

Your friends and family will rest in comfort in the 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom is fitted with a queen bed, a small walk-in closet, and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a full bed for two additional guests. The third room maximizes space with a queen Murphy bed, freeing up this room for other activities and easy access to the balcony when the bed isn’t in use. The small balcony off of the third bedroom can be used as an alternative workspace, or simply another place for you to spread out and take in some fresh air. A second full bathroom is available between the bedrooms and includes a tub. All of the beds are fitted with sheets and thick, plush comforters to provide peaceful rest for everyone. There is also a pack-n-play available (i.e. portable crib) with its own mattress and sheets available for guests to use, and then if need be the Murphy bedroom can easily be set up for use as a nursery for guests with infants.

For your convenience, high-speed Wi-Fi is available free-of-charge so you can connect with your friends and family at home, or keep up with your work emails. The home also comes with one secured off-street parking spot for any reasonably sized vehicle in a driveway behind the home, and free street parking close-by as well should you happen to have multiple vehicles.

Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire home as well as the backyard space, providing plenty of privacy and room to spread out.

The Neighborhood:

Hill East is a great residential neighborhood adjacent to Capitol Hill. It is primarily residential, but just far enough from downtown that there is space for plenty of services, including full-sized supermarkets, parks, and playgrounds. It is very walkable and sufficiently close to everything that you won’t feel too far out in the suburbs. Eastern Market and Lincoln Park are conveniently located for your children to play, or to get some people-watching in.

While there are some friendly neighborhood bars and restaurants in Hill East, you’ll find many more options right in Capitol Hill on 8th Street, or the nearby lively H Street Corridor. You can quickly get to those parts of town if you want; it is longish walk, or you can simply take the Metro that is only two blocks away. Parking is usually easy to come by. If you happen to be a soccer fan, DC United's RFK stadium is less than a 10-minute walk away for getting out to a game while you're in town. If you're looking for my personal recommendations of places to go or things to see, please ask me!

Perhaps the biggest advantage of Hill East (sometimes also called Barney Circle) is the strong sense of community. It is the sort of place where residents know each other by name, and help one another with yard work.

Getting Around:

Stadium Armory metro stop is two blocks away at 19th St and A St SE and has Orange, Blue, & Silver line access, multiple bus stops, as well as a bikeshare station. The house is only a 20-minute drive from Reagan National Airport or a 10-minute drive from Union Station.

House Rules:

• No smoking

• Not suitable for pets

Great house for exploring Washington DC

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here.

The house is very well kept and modern inside. The back garden is nicely enclosed. Loved the fire pit and the seating outside which was nice to relax in.

Few minute walk to the metro which was easy to use and enabled us to see many sights around the city. It is also close to the interstates if you have a car and want to travel just outside the city or further away.

Extras such as water on arrival, coffee, general necessities and some toiletries were nice to have supplied.

From the time of booking the owners/rep were really helpful sending information both before and during our stay.

Would recommend this house if you are wanting to stay in the area.

Clean, convenient, cute - lots of little pluses

  • 5 of 5

Great townhome two blocks from the metro- easy ride to access Smithsonian Museums and the National Mall. We loved our stay with plenty of space for our family of 5. Secure, super clean, lots of little amenities like Alexa, nesspresso, french press or drip coffee maker, tv with access to Netflix, amazon and others, higher end gas range for cooking (we cook in a lot), and comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again if we brought the family back to DC! Our Hosts were helpful with lots going on in the area and detailed all we needed to know in emails.

Thank you for helping to make our vacation wonderful.

Comfort and relaxation in Washington, DC

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good things about Mike's home in DC. It is absolutely perfect in every way.

Most importantly -- it is CLEAN and very comfortable. We were impressed by the attention to detail shown by Mike and his cleaning crew.

Also, Mike was very responsive to all my messages and left clear, simple check-in/check-out instructions. Mike truly cares that you are 100% satisfied with your experience in his home.

Thank you for everything!

Great house in a great location blocks to metro

  • 5 of 5

What a great spot to stay for a visit to D.C.! So conveniently located in Capitol Hill neighborhood, a block from Metro. The home itself was impeccable - clean, well decorated, nice decor but still comfortable. Great layout for family, with plenty of room to hangout, cook dinners, grill outside. Loved the back patio and green space. Owner was very responsive before the trip, as well as during the trip to answer questions. Will definitely book this place again for our next DC visit!
