About Chuck & Alda

We are Chuck and Alda Watlington, presently we reside in Windermere, Florida. We have previously owned a cabin in Gatlinburg, and since 2004, our family has spent many vacations, Thanksgiving and Christmas's Holidays in the Smoky Mountains. Our family has many precious and unforgettable memories from all the years vacationing in the Mountains. We hope you and your family enjoy staying in our cabin and we can help you create as many sweet memories as we did.

Chuck & Alda purchased this cabin in 2017

Why Chuck & Alda chose Sevierville

This area was our son and daughter's favorite vacation place. We chose the "Preserve Resort," because it is the quiet side of the Smoky Mountains, with the best views.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is only ten minutes from the National Park, and only fifteen minutes from Townsend; or you can take a twenty minute shortcut through the National Park to Gatlinburg. Pigeon Forge is also only twenty minutes away. We have one of the most beautiful views in Sevier County, with unobstructed views of the National Park.

Perfect getaway with endless amenities!!

  • 5 of 5

Stay from 11/21/17 to 11/26/17:

Our family vacation over the Thanksgiving day holiday was to the Smoky Mountains (5 adults & 2 Children) was made absolutely perfect by our stay at Jesse's Awesome View Cabin. The proprietors, Chuck & Alda, were very engaged in their communication with us on the days leading up to our visit to help make everything easy.

The Cabin was insanely spacious and the accommodations, furnishings & bedding were pristine and of the highest quality. It was all that is was advertised to be and much more...and of course the view is from the cabin awe-inspiring!!

We stayed in the cabin and prepared a full Thanksgiving dinner, and it could not have turned out better. Our crew took advantage of all the amenities during our stay, including the: pool table, 75" TV & theater seating, arcade game and of course, the hot tub.

While we only had a group of 7, the cabin can easily accommodate twice that number. We would highly recommend this cabin.

Great Value, beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

Chuck and Alda were awesome. Quick to respond and very helpful. Our group of 8 were very comfortable at the cabin. Our 4 kids (ages 16-21) kept themselves entertained downstairs with video games, theater room and 3/4 size pool table. We brought a gaming system for use downstairs in the theater room at that was a big hit.

The adults enjoyed relaxing on the balconies with a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. The views were breath taking. We spent a lot of time out doing stuff around Townsend, Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. We suggest the scenic route when going from the cabin to Gatlinburg.

Keep in mind this cabin is part of a community of cabins so if you are looking for isolation this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a great value that is well kept and comfortable then look no further.

Amazing place with an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week here and it was everything we expected and more. The view could not be better. While tucked back in the mountains access is still easy to maneuver. Our party consisted of three family units and rage layout of the cabin was perfect. An issue with water pressure arose but one call to Chuck and the issue was resolved. (The priblem arose from the compounds water system). We could not have been better satisfied.

Clean, well-equipped cabin in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of three families who spent four days at this wonderful cabin. Our group contained seven children, and the accommodations were perfect for us. The kids loved the basement arcade, pool table, and movie theater. It allowed the adults lots of time to enjoy conversation over meals and time relaxing looking out at the mountains. We cooked a lot and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. Everything was very clean throughout the cabin with nice sheets, towels, and furnishings. We didn't use the hot tub, but I'm sure if the weather had been cooler we would have. The wifi worked really well, and we also appreciated the washer and dryer.

The community pool was at the top of a hill with amazing views. The kids had a great time playing there. We also enjoyed going to Townsend to enter the national park there and did a great hike along the river with waterfalls that was recommended at the visitor center. Two of the guys in our group did a helicopter tour one morning and really enjoyed it.

The owners were very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to our questions prior to arrival. Checkin and checkout were easy with the code on the door.

This was a perfect long weekend, and we would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend this cabin for a family or group.

The cabin is beautiful but the owners are terrible.

  • 1 of 5

We arrived on Thursday 5/31 for our stay at 4:40pm (check in is at 4:00pm), the cleaning lady was still there and the place was not even close to being clean. She asked us to come back (after traveling for 16hrs) and we declined to do so, and went downstairs to where she said it was clean. She left a while later but hadn’t finished, the upstairs beds were not even made. On Saturday 6/2, we were out in gatlinburg all day and came back to a cloudy/smelly hot tub that was unusable, I contacted the owner to find out if the hot tub had been cleaned before we had arrived, he said it had been but I don’t believe it would get that way in 2 uses. They gave us a “free” night for the inconvenience and we left early Monday morning 6/4, today 6/7 we received a text message stating that the hot tub cover was stuck behind the hot tub and we would be charged for a new hot tub lid (it’s been 3 days and no issues were brought to our attention until now). They are refusing to give us our deposit back and trying to charge us even more money for something that we absolutely did not do. I would have stayed here again without question but the owners trying to scam us out of money is very disappointing. If you do stay here PLEASE video the cabin when you arrive and when you leave because the owners are money hungry liars and they will try to screw you over. I’ve been receiving nasty text messages for 4hrs, I’ve been called ignorant and a liar multiple times. So much for customer service. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Owner's Response: We are very saddened by your response. You are the first and only guests we have ever had a problem with. The only truthful part of your story is that the housekeeper came late and didn't have the cabin ready at check-in time. She was immediately replaced, and we voluntarily gave you a free night for the inconvenience. We even paid for you and your guests’ admission to a recreational facility. At the time of your check-out, you wrote a beautiful handwritten review in our guest-book where you said, "The house is amazing and the owners are fantastic! We will definitely be back!" All of this changed after we found that you had jammed our 8" hot tub cover into a 5” space between the tub and the outside railing, tearing a 5"×7" hole in the cover by doing so. You voluntarily provided us with pictures and confirmed in your text messages that your brother was the one who placed the cover on a place impossible to be removed. All of these text messages have been provided to VRBO, who did the final judgment on the security deposit. Not once did I call you a liar or ignorant. Despite providing me with proof that you and your guests damaged the cover, you chose to deny it, and had your husband call me on the phone to curse me out. If you would have simply said it was an accident and not verbally cursed me over the phone, we would have covered the damages out of our own expense account. We often overlook small things that may break in the hands of our guests, and we haven't charged any of our many guests for anything, but in this case it was intentionally done and the hot tub was left without a cover. We also have a policy to not rent our cabin to guests under the age of 25, especially to guests in their late-teens or early 20’s. Is it fair for you to make the false accusations you did, simply because you have to pay for your own damages? We take our end of the contract seriously and hope you as a guest will be more respectful of our property.

Great family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

The scenery is beautiful. The cabin worked great for the 12 of us. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space. Everything we needed was in the cabin. I would definitely stay here again.
