Living Room: Relax on the white leather sofa and put your feet up on the ottoman while you enjoy a movie on the 42" HD Samsung television with basic cable, HBO and DVD player. Connect your own Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and Pandora accounts to the smart television. During the day you'll enjoy the sunlight that streams in through the glass front door and sunroom door. In the evening, put a few logs on the wood stove and snuggle up.
Sunroom: Just off the living room is a small sunroom, where you can look out onto the garden and perhaps read a book. Here's where we've stashed a supply of games, toys and books. It can also serve as a small playroom for children.
Kitchen: The kitchen is the beating heart of this home, connecting to the living and dining areas as well as the back patio. Spacious enough for friends to linger, and well supplied for those who love to cook: dishwasher, microwave, Kitchenaid, blender, food processor, toaster oven, coffee maker, and cappuccino machine. The walk-in pantry provides plenty of room to stock up on food and supplies.
Dining room: The dining room is an eye-catching place to gather with friends and enjoy a meal. The metallic turquoise paint is lively, and the vintage sputnik-inspired light fixture shows off the vaulted ceilings. The dining table seats 8 comfortably.
Bathroom: The recently remodeled bathroom has a spa-like feel, with sleek cabinets, tall mirrors, double sinks and beautiful tile. The towels are soft and fluffy, and there are plenty of them.
Bedroom 2: This colorful, charming room was decorated with kids in mind. The woodland theme in the hand painted dresser and Pottery Barn bedding will put young travelers right at ease. There are a variety of books and toys on the shelves. The vaulted ceilings and high southern-facing window bring in light and cheer. The double bed is large enough for two and quite comfortable. Extra linens and blankets are stored in the drawers under the bed.
Bedroom 3: This serene space looks out onto the front garden, and is a comfortable spot to turn in for the night. The interior brick wall and vaulted ceiling add character. Double bed sleeps two.
Master bedroom: Up the stairs you'll find the large master bedroom. With it's vaulted ceiling and 10 - yes 10! - windows, you may feel as though you're sleeping among the tree tops. Don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of the moon outside a window. A large desk provides ample space to sit down to write or work on a computer. Peruse one of the many leather-bound volumes of classic literature. You'll get a great night's sleep on the comfortable queen bed.
Basement: The reliable washer/dryer are located in the basement.
Front patio: The front patio is the larger of the two patios, with a covered area for the large BBQ grill and bar, a dining table with seating for 4, and 2 additional chairs. There's also an outdoor stove for toasting marshmallows.
Back patio: The back patio provides a great place to relax both in and out of the 7-person hot tub. Built in seating on the deck can be used for lounging, sipping beverages and, with the aid of a folding table, dining together in nice weather.

About Heather Vaughan
Though we've managed rental properties for over 10 years, we only began managing short term rentals in 2018. It's been a lot of fun so far. We have found we enjoy crafting a wonderfully relaxing experience for our guests. It's rewarding to create an environment in which our guests can have a great time and make some happy memories.
Heather Vaughan purchased this House in 2010
Why Heather Vaughan chose West Highland
We fell in love with this house while living around the corner from it. For years, we'd walk by, my husband marveling at its passive solar design. I loved the unusual roof angles and the large serene garden. Then one day there was a for sale sign out front. On our first attempt, we were beaten out by a higher offer, but when that offer fell through a month later, we were able to snap it up.
What makes this House unique
We've lived in a lot of houses over the years, and this one is by far our favorite. The vaulted ceilings and south facing windows create a feeling of spaciousness and bring in tons of natural light. The previous owner had painted some of the rooms some wild colors, reflecting a sense of joyfulness. The interior brick walls add character, and simultaneously keep the house a constant temperature. In almost every room, you can look out a window and enjoy the large garden or tall trees outside. At night in bed, you can look up to see the moon. It really is a special place. We've created lots of happy memories here and hope you will too!

What a wonderful home and very accommodating hosts. We stayed at the home for 3 nights and it was perfect. The home is centrally located in a spot that allows things in walking distance while just a short drive into the heart of the city.
We enjoyed the hot tub many times and relaxed on both patios. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for their own little oasis.
Best rental we ever had in Denver!
Heather was a perfect hostess. She left chocolates & fluffy robes in the master bedroom & a bottle of wine in the kitchen.
The house is cute & comfy. The garden is quirky-fun & very private. We were barely aware we had any neighbors. Neighborhood is the best! We were able to walk to two natural grocers, lots of really great restaurants & other stores that we like to frequent while in Colorado. Hot tub was welcome at the end of our long days of sightseeing. The aquaponic garden on the basement was another interesting touch.
FYI, the trip downtown is fast & easy, so if you’re in town for an event, we highly recommend Xavier! We hope to be back ourselves real soon!
Beautufully eclectic home
Heather was amazing to work with during our stay. The house was nestled behind a beautiful fence which made us feel like we could retreat and relax. We enjoyed our welcome basket and the hot tub was a great place to unwind. Amenities were extremely close and we could venture around Denver with ease.
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit, Adrienne. Come back again any time!
Great home for a weekend in Denver!!
Would highly recommend this property! If you're anything like me you're iffy about staying in someone else's home but this property felt like a really unique hotel suite. The linens and hot tub (and really the whole entire house) was super clean, kitchen and medicine cabinet were fully stocked, and the home had a really unique charm with all of its art. Of course we loved the hot tub and the location which is really convenient to the rest of Denver. Don't think twice book this place!
Thanks Nydia! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back any time.
We stayed at Heather's place with our 2 boys in March having lived years before in the area. Heather was nothing but welcoming and accommodating from the start of the rental process though the end. This rare find is a unique, extremely clean serene home with many special accents that were perfect for our whole family. From the welcoming basket to the vast amount of "cool toys" for our boys, the playground and hot tub everyone loved staying in this home. From the linens and towels which were plush and plentiful, to the modern well stocked kitchen and convenient washer dryer we felt right at home. And the amazing windows; the natural light in this home is incredible and highlights all that CO is about. The location is ideal as it is an short walk to everything one would need and a quick drive to everything this wonderful city and surrounding area has to offer. We wished we still lived in Denver or at least closer so we could visit Heather's home more often.
Perfect home away from home.
The house is awesome and in a perfect location. Very close to everything. The hot tub is the icing on the cake. Amazing.
