Castle Rock is an elegant 1880s ships captain's cottage, perfectly situated within a short walking distance of Llangrannog's beautiful sandy beaches and the lane next to the cottage leads directly onto Ceredigion Coast Path. It's a lovely place for a romantic break and for family seaside holidays.
The tastefully furnished cottage with its delightful period features, panelled walls and antiques is situated above the waterfall, Y Gerwn, and opposite the charming, enclosed village garden – a perfect sunny spot to read the papers or for children to play. A log burner for cooler evenings and a place to sit outside at the front and enjoy a drink, make it ideal for a coastal holiday at any time of year.
Castle Rock is close to the village centre with two pubs, a shop, an award-winning pizza takeaway, and two cafe's with fabulous views over the beach. Llangrannog is a wonderful destination whatever the time of year. Warmer months might involve spending days on the sandy beach, building sandcastles, and enjoying delicious ice cream. Colder months are perfect for wrapping up in your most cosy clothes, taking blustery beach walks, and appreciating the dramatic scenery.
Ceredigion Coast Path has 60 miles of spectacular coastal scenery, wildlife, beaches, and dramatic sea cliffs to explore. To the south, there is a long sandy beach at Penbryn and the village of Tresaith has a pub with fantastic views over Cardigan Bay.
The hamlet and historic lime kiln at Cwm Tydu are a short drive away and the seaside village of New Quay offers dolphin spotting boat trips. The Georgian town of Aberaeron is half an hour away and the old market town of Cardigan has supermarkets, lots of independent shops and eateries, a theatre/cinema, and leisure centre. There is easy access to Pembrokeshire and the Preseli Hills to the south and Aberystwyth and the Cambrian Mountains to the north.
