About the host
Hosted by Edmond Tessier
I’m a lifetime Nantucket summer resident, and this historic home - once owned by 19th-century Sea Captain “Brownie” - has been part of the island’s story for generations. As an antique dealer and frequent traveler, I have a deep appreciation for spaces with history and character, and this one has both in abundance. I enjoy hosting guests who want an authentic Nantucket experience: laid-back, rich in history, and surrounded by the charm of a true sea captain’s home.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it’s in the heart of Nantucket’s historic district: just a short walk to Main Street, shops, and restaurants. The home blends history with comfort, featuring an updated kitchen and 4 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 10 guests. You don’t even need a car here, though you’ll have one off-street parking space plus street parking available. There’s also another apartment in the home that’s separate from the rental.
What makes this property unique
What makes this home unique is its combination of historic charm and smart use of space. It’s cozy yet functional, with everything you need right in the heart of town—and at a price that’s hard to find on Nantucket.
