Séjour dans le quartier Alcântara

Le quartier n'est pas spécialement touristique mais c'est plutôt calme et proche d'une gare, de plusieurs lignes de bus et de trams.Louer un appartement est très pratique quand on ne veut pas trop dépenser dans les restaurants.Le séjour nous a plu, bon accueil et facilité à communiquer avec le propriétaire.

Stay in Lisboa

We booked this VRBO because it was ground floor and easy to access ( as my son has mobility issues) when we arrived it was easy to find and get into the apartment. Some positives were great communication, good price, great area and fit most of our requirements.We found the apartment not to be the cleanest, we had to mop the floor and wear our shoes the first night as our socks were very dirty. The blankets on the main bed had stains and it seemed very ‘wet’ inside. I know it’s humid, but the sheets felt wet. We asked for more blankets as there were only 3 ( thin blankets) and four decorative pillows to sleep on. The host sent some extra pillows and blankets in a uber. The fans we used in the bedroom were quite dirty and also when you opened the cupboards there was a musty smell. We rewashed the dishes we used. The frying pan was old and had burnt stuff on it, we made it work but our bread tasted burnt. There is also no airflow because there is a small window in the bedroom. This place would be ok for young people just needing somewhere to sleep after a long day, but not great for a family. As the couch in the living room is close to the door and very loud at night, traffic and street lights on all evening. There is potential and we made it work, but it is definitely not 5 star. The owner was great and the communication was fast and efficient.

Be clear to owner of your expectations prior to arrival

The owner did a great job of renovating the unit. It is decorated well. He was very helpful in finding the apartment and answering questions. Nice gentleman. Having said that, I should have asked more prior to arrival. The washer was not in the unit (altho he offered to have me do my washing in another unit upstairs the next day), The charging station for the car is down the street at the fuel station and not at the unit. The unit was not clean. Floors filthy (probably from the water) and the tiles were extremely slippery. Water stained towels and the clothes that I hand washed were stained from the bad water. Refrigerator ran loudly, microwave was old and not efficient, glassware needed to be cleaned before used, shower very small. Shampoo provided is cheap quality. We have stayed in many homestays and we wanted to like this but NO. It needs an air purifier and dehumidifier. Cannot imagine what it would be like in the summer with A/C! There is no temperature control and only one small window to open for fresh air and it opens to a walkway. The fans helped with noise control and air movement in order to sleep. Be careful with GPS or it will put you over the bridge which is a HUGE detour and mistake.

Cute Small Place

Was looking for a small place to stay with a couple friends 18 years old for 4 days. Really enjoyed the stay here. Place was very clean close to everything. Area very walkable close to bus stations, host very reasonable work check in and check out. Enjoyed our stay a lot will be back!
