The Old Meeting Hall is ideally located for exploring the stunning North Norfolk Coastline. You’ll find nearby seaside towns such as Sheringham and Cromer, along with breathtaking beaches like Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the saltmarsh vistas at Salthouse and Cley-next-the-Sea, both great for birdwatching and peaceful walks along the shingle shore. After a day of exploring, relax with a local Norfolk beer at The Dun Cow, home to one of the county’s most popular beer gardens.
Getting Around:
Holt is well-connected by road, making it easily accessible from nearby towns and cities. If you're coming by car, the A148 road provides a direct route into Holt from King's Lynn and Cromer. There is also parking available in the town.
For public transport, Holt is not served by a direct train line, but the nearest train station is in Sheringham, just a short bus or taxi ride away. The Bittern Line offers regular services between Sheringham and Norwich, where you can connect to other major cities.
Once in Holt, the town is best explored on foot due to its compact size and many hidden alleys and courtyards. If you wish to explore the surrounding coastline and countryside, local buses provide routes to coastal towns and nature reserves. Alternatively, cycling is a great option for those who prefer a scenic and active way to travel.
