Welcome to Väddö in Norrtälje and this charming early 19th-century farmstead with a true “Bullerby” feeling, where you will stay comfortably in this lovely house renovated in 2012. Here you are surrounded by beautiful meadows and only a short walk from Lake Bornan with its sandy beach, while still being close to the archipelago, nature, and local services. In this peaceful countryside setting, you can relax, enjoy the silence, and listen to the birds singing. The accommodation is part of a traditional farm building, and you have your own private garden with outdoor furniture. The kitchen offers a cozy dining area and an old wood-burning stove, while also being equipped with everything you need. One of the bedrooms has a soapstone fireplace whose crackling fire creates a perfect atmosphere for reading or relaxing in the comfortable seating area. This room also has two single beds. The second bedroom features two comfortable sofas, one of which is a sofa bed for two people, as well as a bunk bed with two beds. You can choose whether you prefer sleeping on the sofa bed or in the bunk bed. From this room, you have access to the spacious bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink. There is also a separate guest toilet with sink located by the entrance. The farm enjoys a beautiful location with the land sloping down toward Lake Bornan, close to the Åland Sea and large forests. Here you can take a morning swim in a calm inland lake, enjoy dramatic sea bathing spots nearby, and pick mushrooms and berries in the surrounding forests. Take peaceful walks through the protected fairytale-like forests around Lake Bornan or hike along the Roslagen Trail by the sea on Väddö. Nearby you will find Ortalabruk, an old ironworks village dating back to the 17th century. There are also opportunities to play tennis and padel, rent a boat in Älmsta, and play golf at Väddö Golf Course. In the nearby village of Älmsta, you will find several shops, including a large grocery store, a pharmacy, restaurants, and a Maritime Museum that is well worth a visit. If you would like an even larger selection of shops and services, the town center of Norrtälje has everything you may need and is itself worth visiting. About a 30-minute drive away is Grisslehamn by the Åland Sea, with its fishing harbor, smokehouses, Albert Engström Museum, cafés, restaurants, and the Eckerö Line ferry. In the living room, you can relax in two comfortable sofas, one of which is a sofa bed for two people. There is also a bunk bed with two beds. You can decide for yourselves whether you prefer to sleep on the sofa bed instead of the bunk bed. From this room you reach the large bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. In the entrance there is a guest toilet with sink. The farm is very beautifully situated with the grounds sloping down towards Lake Bornan, close to the Åland Sea and large forests. Here you can take a morning swim in a calm lake, be close to dramatic sea bathing and pick mushrooms and berries in large forests. Take peaceful forest walks in the nature-protected troll forests around Lake Bornan or hike on the Roslagsleden trail along the sea on Väddö. In the immediate vicinity there is Ortalabruk - an old ironworks from the 17th century, there is the opportunity to play tennis, paddle and rent a boat in Älmsta and play golf at Väddö golf course. In the nearby town of Älmsta there are several shops; a large grocery store, pharmacy and several restaurants and a Maritime Museum which is well worth a visit. If you want a larger selection, there is everything you could possibly need in central Norrtölje, which in itself is worth a visit! A half hour drive away is Grisslehamn on the Sea of Åland with a fishing port – smokehouses, Albert Engström's museum, café, restaurants and the Eckerö Linjen. Good to know!
