Everything was great with the sole exception of there only being one set of keys and needing the key to unlock the doors from the inside and outside. It meant that our party couldn’t split up/someone stay home without leaving the main and apt door unlocked or being locked in with no means to leave including in case of emergency. The beds were comfy, bathroom and kitchen were clean and had a few necessities that made our stay much easier. Location was awesome, easily accessible for walking and public transportation and having a parking spot in the city was great too.
Pros:Location was fabulous, easy walking distance to some nice restaurants and pubs. The castle was only about 15 minutes away, very easy walk to tram (to airport and others)Supplies: Provided some coffee and tea and initial household goods like dishwasher pods, laundry pods, basics. Nice!Beds were comfortable, including sheets, but not luxury. Multiple depth pillows provided, quality was just ok Entrance was skeleton key to lobby area, and standard key to the unit up the stairs. The lobby area would be handy if someone had a bike or suitcase to store as it was only for this unit. One set of keys was not a problem given they had an external lockbox in case renters split upCommunications- very responsive, third-party management company done through their appCons:Extra charge if you want linens for the sofa bed. We made it work with odd linens in the closet - works for young kidsNo ice - an ice tray would solve it, understand it’s a US stdSecurity - locking the lower lobby door was challenging because there’s not an internal handle to grab to pull door tight for the & you skeleton key lockup. A deadbolt would solve it. Locking from the outside was not a problem. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!
Pros of staying here: Good location for Haymarket Train Station and other attractions and restaurants in Edinburgh; large, fluffy towels and provided toiletries; and comfortable beds. Cons of staying here: We had to continually request a repair needed and it took nearly the entire duration of our stay before it was resolved; a miscommunication between their housekeeper and the property management company confused us when it was implied by text we needed to vacate the premises after one night (it was meant to tell us we could not extend at the end of our stay). A parking space was supposed to be provided to us with our stay and we only rented a car for one day, but it was sometimes impossible to park a car there since others (not sure if they were guests in the same property management company) filled up the spaces - one vehicle in particular parked across two of the four spaces. Bottom line - if you drive or rent a vehicle it could be a challenge. Need to send a big thank you to two of the property management employees: Lyubo and Charles. Thanks gentleman !
