Ambrosia~ Unique 3BR/4BA beach house - PET FRIENDLY!!

This charming three-story three bedroom, four-full-bath beach house offers 2,000 square feet of living space, two porches, a balcony and a crow's nest.

Downstairs you’ll find a spacious living room, dining room and fully appointed kitchen with breakfast counter, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher and laundry area with full-size washer and dryer. In addition to the main living areas downstairs, there is one guest bedroom with a full bath as well as a large screened back porch with access from the kitchen and bedroom.

On the second floor, you’ll discover the master suite and additional guest room. The master suite has a generous master bath with a large garden tub, a separate glass-enclosed shower with dual shower heads, a double vanity and a separate commode room. Just off the master bedroom, you’ll enjoy views of the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge from the second-story balcony. The additional upstairs bedroom has plenty of closet space and a large full bath. There is an additional screened balcony overlooking the bird sanctuary.

Accessible by stairs from the second story, the crow’s nest offers a peaceful hideaway perfect for playing, relaxing or sleeping. Other features include 9 and 10-foot ceilings, ceiling fans, central heating and air conditioning, and lots of storage areas.

Spring Break

Ambrosia is a great house in a great resort. There was plenty of room for us. The only change I would make would be a king-size bed on the main floor. Love Martinique at the Gulf!

A Glorious Week in the Gulf

We loved the outside porches off our bedrooms and the beds were perfectly suited to our needs. The kitchen was well stocked but definitely showed signs of wear. The living area and dining room were also very nice. The golf cart definitely showed signs of wear with most of the stitching loose around the back cushions. However, it worked well and we had a wonderful time.

First, all the properties in Martinique are a short golf cart drive from access to the beach. Second, our family of 7 each had their own bed, which was a big deal. Third, the AC was cool all day and night. Fourth, there were a few items not provided that we needed: beach towels (bath towels provided), toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, and kitchen staples for cooking. Fifth, there is an awesome fresh seafood market down the street for fresh shrimp and Sassy Pizza is pretty close too. Finally, we would 100% stay here again.

It was pet friendly (isn’t anymore) so we were able to bring our two pound chihuahua with us. The driveway has an odd angle but that’s the only thing I can think of! lol Otherwise, GREAT! Golf cart ran well; close to the pool. No complaints.

Truly Wonderful Vacation

Reviewer Comments: As long-time Martinique on the Gulf vacationers but first-time Ambrosia visitors, we were not certain what to expect but greatly impressed with the home and clarity of expectations. Pictures do not do the home justice with the spaciousness, enclosed porches, and backyard patio. We were two families with children between the ages of 18 and 2. The master bedroom with the trundle bed was perfect for the family with the two youngest children. The golf cart was well-maintained. The propane tank was empty on the grill but replaced with a full tank within 30 minutes of calling the office. Beds were comfortable, garage had a broad collection of beach gear including a wagon and tents. The development is always relaxing and welcoming as well as private and typically very quiet. We highly recommend Ambrosia if you are looking for a place to recharge.

Horrible Experience

We were notified less than 48 hours before our stay that the house was not ready and the company would be canceling our trip. This was a huge disappointment for my family, especially since the kids were looking forward to this since October. I had to quickly book a trip and it ended up being in another state due to everything in Gulf Shores being booked on such short notice. The management at this location has VERY POOR planning skills. They should have given us more of a notice so that I could get my refund and rebook in a timely manner. Then on top of this huge disappointment they didn’t even try to offer any type of incentive to rebook with them or reschedule our trip. The conversation was this is how it is and there is noting we can do about it. Here’s your refund. Very poor customer service. I would highly not recommend using this location.

Reviewer Comments: Upon our arrival the house was not ready until 3:30 p.m. The people in the office were very nice about the delay. When we entered Ambrosia and checked the house we were disappointed. The towels that were there were not clean but stained. The oven did not work and there was no blender. When moving into the different bedrooms we found mold around the different air vents. When we brought this to the attention of the office they said that they were aware of the problem. Mold is a problem and we believe that we should have been informed. My daughter could not say with us due to her allergy to mold. She had to say with our friends in a different home. We believe that we should have been compensated in some fashion. We would not recommend staying at this location.

I believe the property went downhill after the hurricane. We all came back with upper respiratory issues because of the mildew/mold and air quality. Very sad! I hope these issues will be corrected.

However, when we arrived, the golf cart didn’t work. We weren’t able to get anyone to look at it until the next day. (That’s understandable because we checked in late on Sunday.) The management told us it was going to be $400 to repair the cart, and they needed to contact the owner of the house. I noted we needed some consideration for not having use of the cart. I got no response. I called the next day and was told the manager was out. A couple days later someone comes to get the broken cart and drop a loaner. I asked why the delay in getting the loaner and he said he didn’t know. So - decent house, spotty amenities and terrible management.

We thought it was the dishwasher, but think it was repaired, Then discovered there was another leak much bigger under the sink. My review of barely satisfied is because that leak must be fised or it will ruin the house. Our stay at Martinique is always great, but this home that we have stayed in twice has been in the worst conditions of any we have rented.

Evacuees for Hurricane Ida

The living room had plenty of room. The televisions were crappy. The first floor would be a good temperature, the second floor would be warm and the third floor would be too hot even with the portable AC unit running. I would not rent this house again but the community was nice.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Martinique property is lovely. We love staying in this neighborhood, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach. The Martinique staff were helpful and nice when we needed anything. The Ambrosia house was a bit disappointing though. Due to Covid 19, there is a later check in of 5:00pm and and earlier check out of 9:00am to more thoroughly clean and disinfect. We appreciated this. When we arrived at the house, it appeared clean when we walked in; however, after walking on the tile floor and the carpet for less than an hour, we discovered our feet had turned completely black. The floors were definitely dirty. Additionally, the carpets MUST BE REPLACED. They are beyond cleaning with stains everywhere and they smell. The house has a mildewy and wet dog combined smell where there are carpets. We also appreciate being able to bring our pet with us, but we discovered fleas in the house. Overall, we would not stay in this house again unless the floors were completely replaced. You couldn't walk barefoot. It was gross.

We liked the privacy and security on the property and will definitely be back! The kids enjoyed being able to have more freedom to ride bikes and swim in the pools.
