Johnsbu - unique log cabin, Ustaoset

Since 1929, the family cottage Johnsbu, a log cabin located in the middle of the cabin town on Ustaoset, has brought large and small families together to experiences they will never forget. Now you and your loved ones can experience this cabin with a driveway all the way in the summer, walking distance from the train station (12 min), short distance to both the beginning of Rallarveien (11 min drive to Haugastøl) and Geilo's many offers (12 min drive). Cross-country trails go right past property.

The cabin is located in the center of Ustaoset, about 5 min drive up from rv. 7 with summer road all the way. Enclosed by 11 acres of property, there are few neighbors to think about. Patios overlooking Ustevannet and from the kitchen up to Hallingskarvet.

Important: This cabin has a self catering. Guests must bring linen and towels. Guests must clean, support, and clean before departure according to the checklist. The standard is simple yet practical and with a homey feel.

You rent the entire cabin.

1st floor has a tiled bathroom with its own WC/water toilet, shower, 2 sinks and heating cables. Kitchen with small dishwasher, stove with induction top, built-in fridge and freezer as well as necessary dry goods for free use. The living room, a magnificent log room, runs over two floors, with an entrance to 4 bedrooms from the gallery. On the ground floor there are also 3 bedrooms out from the living room. All with bunk beds, single beds, or double bed.

Heating is primarily done with a heat pump (air-to-air) supplemented with wood burning in the fireplace and panel ovens in the living room.

The second floor has a loft with some private belongings and laundry equipment (vacuum cleaner, etc.). In addition you have 4 bedrooms, each with 2 beds (some single and a few doubles).

All bedrooms include duvets and pillows, so users only need to bring bed linen (possibly a sheet bag).

Guests wash the cabin themselves upon departure and leave it as they wish to find it on their next visit. The cabin does not have a TV, but a wifi network that uses the local wifi network for Åsberg Alarm provides about 5-10Mbps. This may vary as it is wireless, but has no data restriction.
