The Neighborhood:
Ynys Môn | Isle of Anglesey
North west of Wales, just off the mainland’s coastline, you’ll find an island steeped in history and natural beauty. A destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. A magical place where you can inspire your senses with new sights, sounds, smells and tastes and get away from it all.
Anglesey is known for its unspoilt coastline, open landscapes, and slower pace of life. The Anglesey Coastal Path circles the island, offering clifftop walks, quiet coves, and wide sandy beaches.
Nearby highlights include:
- Llanddwyn (Newborough) – sweeping sands, pine forests, and iconic views
- Rhosneigr – surfing, kiteboarding, and a lively coastal feel
- Red Wharf Bay – expansive tidal views and calm waters
The island is a playground for water lovers, with kayaking, paddle boarding, coasteering, sailing, rib rides, and wild swimming all easily accessible.
Historic Beaumaris is a short drive away, while Snowdonia National Park lies just across the bridge, offering dramatic mountain scenery, lakes, and hiking routes including Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).
Menai Bridge is only 10 minutes away for cafés and dining, and Llangefni supermarket is 5 minutes by car.
Much of Anglesey’s coastline has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the island boasts a vast and diverse array of plant and animal life.
The Y Glyn Estate
Y Glyn is conveniently located near Llangefni, a market town and Anglesey’s cultural capital. Set within four acres of beautiful untouched land, the farm estate is home to a Welsh stone Cottage and stone Bothy.
Dating back to the 1600s, the house was originally called Ceint Bach and is most famous as the birthplace of the renowned Welsh poet, Robert Hughes from 1744 to 1785. It was also the home of William Jones, MP for Arvon, from 1857 to 1915.
Other Things to Note:
Guests have the option to request extra towels for £25
There are four bins in the property due to new laws announced on the 6th April 2024, there are signs on the fridge and bins themselves with instructions, if this is not done correctly, charges may be given to guests to correct this, this is obviously something we want to avoid so please follow instructions.
We’re happy to welcome dogs at our property! However, we kindly ask that they are supervised at all times. The road beside the property has a national speed limit, and there are a few spots where curious pups might find a way through. Your pet’s safety is important to us!
