About Diane Vreeland/ Carol Null
I am a traveler and adventurer. I have visited and stayed in almost all of Central America. I have done outreach programs in some of them. I moved here from Kennebunkport Maine after selling because my daughter lives here after graduating from COA and teaching now. I am involved in the community and love the seasons except winter. I have been very fortunate to have had the tenants that have stayed in my home. Some have come back for 5 years now. I am easy to get along with and go out of my way to help some. I know how important vacations are for families.
Why Diane Vreeland/ Carol Null chose Bar Harbor
I love living on the Indian Point Road just 13 minutes to the center of town. I don't like crowds and this fits the spot for me. It is like country and quieter but so close to things. People love to bike this road and I love to walk my daughter's dog to the bay. I love to garden and proud to have these values and there is a farmer's market on Fridays just a few minute from my home. A country store that has everything along with ice cream. My tenants find it very clean and comfortable and have a good time.
What makes this House unique
I choose this property to build my home on because it was away from the crowds but easy to access all the other villages on the Island. I had room for a garden and enjoy landscaping.

Our four-day stay at Deer Run.
Exquisite taste throughout. I would not consider staying anywhere else.
Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation of my home. It is important for me that every quest arrives at a clean comfortable home and enjoys their stay.
Hope to see you again.
I've stayed in many homes through VRBO and this by far is the best. Meticulously clean, beautifully furnished and perfectly well stocked kitchen. It was so very quiet but close to town and the park. About a 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor town center. Acadia national park entrance nearby.
Thank you for appreciating things. I definitely am picky about cleanness. Glad you enjoyed your time here on the Island and hope to see you return.
This cottage and its owner were both delightful!
This experience was a wonderful vacation location! The owner was gracious, friendly, and genuinely concerned for our well-being.The cottage was cozy and comfortable with furnishings that added warmth and familiarity. Traveling to this new location for us in the fall turned out to be a great idea for the fewer people and quieter venues. The cottage's kitchen was very well equipped and convenient. Returning here is a very real possibility for us!!!!!!
Beautiful, quite and comfortable!
The home is amazing, bright, comfortable and cozy! The decorating is very interesting, antiques and traditional all rolled into one cohesive look. There is something interesting to look at every where . The location is quite, yet convenient to everything. We loved it!
Thank you Julie. You and your husband surely kept yourself so busy having fun. Hope to see you again. Diane
This is our second time staying at 'Dear Run.' Solidly built, well appointed, quiet house on the quiet side of MDI; 18 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, 12 minutes from Acadia's Hulls Cove Visitor Center, & 8 minutes from Hancock County-Bar Harbor airport. Friendly & accommodating hostess.
Thank you Mel and Diane for your nice review. I hope you can back another time. And thank you again for all your nice presents.
Excellent Home and Experience
My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay in this house. It is well furnished and decorated beautifully. The furniture in the living room is very comfortable. The kitchen is very functional with plenty of dishes, utensils, and appliances. The porch outside is a great place to read. The porch is on two sides of the house so I always had sun or shade choices during the day. There were no bug issues during the daylight hours. We were not out at night very much but did not see bugs then either. The fans in the bedrooms kept the bedrooms cool for sleeping. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. My grand daughter joined us for 6 of our 14 day stay and like her bedroom very much. There was plenty of closet space and drawer space. Bathrooms were clean and very functional. The gas grill outside on porch was in good shape clean with plenty of fuel.
The location was perfect for us in that we were away from Bar Harbor congestion but could get to Bar Harbor in 15 to 20 minutes. We could get to 4 or 5 different park carriage trails in 12 to 20 minutes. Northeast and Southwest Harbors were about 20 minutes away.
When reading on the porch the chipmunks and hummingbirds would entertain me. The owner was very nice and helpful. She told us to pick some raspberries which were great with a little ice cream.
The internet connection worked fine for mail and google search.
We were 100 percent satisfied with everything and would highly recommend staying there. Diane is very easy to work with in setting up rental.
Thank for your gracious review and I loved having you and your wife stay at my home and it was a delight to meet your grand daughter. It was a pleasure meeting you and my all means please come back.
This home is within easy access to Acadia National Park with hiking trails and over 50 miles of carriage roads for biking. If you prefer, utilize the Island Explorer, a free eco-friendly bus shuttle service which is within walking distance to explore the village of Bar Harbor. There is also a nice 15 walk to the bay just 100 ft from my home and a pebble beach at low tide. Brewery with restaurant just 1 min away and a wonderful bakery with sandwiches, and a market. There is a fresh water lake with sand beach about 3 miles away and lots of shopping to do on those rainy days or sit and relax and do nothing. We also have Kebo Valley Golf Course with a full pro shop and clubhouse restaurant on the Island.
