Claire & John made our cottage stay so wonderful - a really idyllic cottage with a great big kitchen and 2 beautifully comfy king size beds. The location was perfect - lots to do and a perfect cottage stay - we would definitely come back!

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location
We absolutely fell in love with old Myrtle Cottage, a beautiful, well equipped property in the most perfect location for getting out and about in the Forest of Dean.
The Farmers Boy Inn, just 200 yards up the road, was a lovely bonus. Their friendly welcome and hospitality, along with their excellent food and beverages, really helped to make our stay even better. We can’t wait to go back and discover more of the area!!

A gorgeous find!
We had such a lovely time here. 2 couples in their late 20s, needing to escape the city life! There’s gorgeous walks around, had a great meal at the local pub and just enjoyed having the fire on and playing games in the evening. We had a tiny hiccup with the oven that was immediately sorted by the kind owner coming round. We will 100% be back! Thank you!

A great stay in a lovely cottage.
We had a long weekend in this cottage and really enjoyed it. Communication with owner the John was excellent throughout and the property is very comfortable and nicely furnished. Good walks directly from the cottage and it is in an exceptionally quiet position.
Everything you could possibly need is provided and it's all very clean. Two woodburners as well as radiators keep the cottage nice and warm and the beds and furniture are all very comfortable.
We would definitely recommend this cottage.

It's not friendly for winter stay
The property was beautiful, but I have to say it was extremely cold during our winter stay. My friend’s cottage, which was booked through the same agent, was much warmer in comparison. Our children didn’t even want to return to the house each night because of how cold it was. We had to keep our coats on inside the rooms just to stay warm, and we only ever heard the radiators working in the mornings. To be honest, it was a disappointing experience.
