Labor Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! The photos do not do the cabin justice. The kitchen is perfect to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, the upstairs bed was sooo comfortable and the cabin was decorated so nicely. Everything was so wonderful and we were so sad to leave. It was so peaceful, the hammock was so relaxing. Sitting on the front porch in the early hours was so nice. We especially enjoyed hearing the river. We will definately be back. The road up was such an adventure and we are so glad we brought the Tahoe! This cabin is so relaxing and so romantic. You feel like there is no one else around. It was so difficult to actually venture out and visit the area because we didn't want to leave the cabin.

Secluded and just what we wanted

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Secluded, quite, quaint, and the sound of the river in the background. All the amenities work well and the cabin is decorated like a cabin should be. We were pleasantly surprised with a Roku to sit out a rainy day with. The grill, fridges, range, oven, washer, and dryer are new and all well kept. The gravel road is not difficult unless you try to drive on it like it were asphalt. Helpful hint for pulling into the driveway: go a car length past and reverse in vs trying to make the right turn and over the hump.

Great place

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and the location was also very nice. The only issue was the road to the cabin, it was a very narrow gravel road with the last part very steep. My F150 rear wheel drive truck bairle made it to the cabin---- 4 wheel drive or at least frount wheel drive needed

Great outdoor spaces

  • 5 of 5

This is a super cute cabin with nice porch, hot tub deck and grilling area. The laundry room has a big refrigerator and a washer/dryer. The tea lights were a nice touch. The only thing I didn't see was a hair dryer. Chairs and bathroom need a bit of updating but overall a fantastic cabin. We stayed in summer but I definitely recommend the 4 wheel drive if it rains. The hot tub feels like it's in a treehouse!

Owner's Response: Hi Karen, Thank you for your review, we are very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cabin earlier this month. I am glad you mentioned the hair dryer not being present, I will make sure to replace this ASAP. We hope you will choose to stay at our cabin again if and when you come back to visit WNC. Thanks again, June & Pete

An OK 3 reduced to 2, inside bugs.

  • 2 of 5

Cute but ... On a secluded densely wooded mountainside, no river views in summer. Driveway was a pain in the butt with a full size 4x4 truck. Dodging limbs and a fence post on the way up, one lane, acquired several scratches. Yard had approx 3 weeks of growth when we arrived for our 5 day stay. They knew we were bringing kids. Was mowed on day 2, I think. Kitchen essentialls were ok, very old & used. Not enough kitchen towels and washclothes for 5 days, or we didn’t find them. Cockroach in the bathroom, I killed it. Brown spider in the bathroom, it lives on. All 4 of us woke up with new bug bites daily, identity of bugs unknown. Direct tv didn’t work when we got there but June (owner) called with a scheduled service man appt. Lucky for us the tv hides in a cabinet and the kids were clueless to its presence. Instructions in cabin states DO NOT unfold futon, which is down stairs. Bed upstairs is super firm. Bed downstairs is a little softer. Box fan missing knobs but runs. A/C is upstairs and works well. Washing our own linens & towels before checkout was very inconvenient for us. Overall was a just ok experience. The hot tub was nice but didn’t offset the dingy cabin & cockroach experience. We still haven’t gotten our deposit back, after correspondence with June and speaking to VRBO customer service, it is past due. I’ve been painfully honest with this review.

Cozy & private

  • 5 of 5

Just loved this cabin...there is so much privacy. The cabin is small and cozy...perfect for my husband & I to celebrate our anniversary. The hot tub was awesome...there are some jets that are not working but over all loved it! Will rebook this place for future trips!
