Trudy was welcoming and flexible host. The apartment was clean (except for a small amount of dust), cheerful and full of plants and curios that gave it character. There are a few board games (including shuffleboard), a radio and cable TV. There are also stacks of Dutch comics, like Donald Duck! It's on a quiet street, a 10–15 minute walk to the station and 5 minutes from plenty of good shops. Note that there's no parking outside, nor can you pull up outside, as it's on a pedestrian alleyway. Heating is easily controlled via radiator thermostats, so it was always warm enough. The kitchen was well-equipped for a short stay: two-ring induction hob, fridge, kettle, Senseo machine (with plenty of pads) and a good mini oven. I missed a microwave, space to put food, and a decent knife, but basics like oil, salt, pepper and some herbs were provided. There was even a pack of spread in the fridge. The shower room was new and spotless with loads of towels, shower gel, shampoo and even toothpaste. (Toiletries might not be standard.) A hairdryer is provided. The main bedroom is huge with a loft-like feel and a comfy bed. There’s a small clothes rail with a few hangers. (Not enough for more than one or two people.) The sofa bed could use more bedding (extra/decent pillows, thicker duvet, mattress protector), but it was easy to use and fine for a short stay.Any small grumbles should be considered alongside the fact that the apartment offers excellent value for money!
