Gorgeous sunsets over the Trail Islands. Head west for a beach walk into the town of Sechelt for coffee shops, boutiques, movie theatre and other amenities. Kayak east for your morning coffee to the friendly community of Davis Bay.

On a summer evening - sit under the stars around our outside and share time around the fire bowl and listen to the gentle lap of the waves on the shore.

On a cold winters evening, cozy up to our expansive indoor fireplace and listen to the waves crash on the rocks.

Designers kitchen w high end bosche and fisher paykel appliances. Covered patio set between a dramatic rockery and garden for outside dining rain or shine.

A master suite off the deck with hot tub underneath the Arbutus trees. A master shower you can dance in - with sea blue glass tiles and glass wall to the ocean.

Great hikes, golfing, swimming, biking, walking and definitely relaxing.

The Sea, once it Casts its Spell, holds one in its Net of Wonder Forever.

If Jacques Cousteau had not been sailing on the ocean when he wrote that, he could just have easily been standing on the balcony of the master bedroom overlooking the ocean and listening to the crash of the ocean waves, the ongoing chatter of shore birds; watching loons, sea lions and herons on the rocky beach of this very unique beach house. This will probably be one of my favourite vacation stays ever.

The house is tucked into the very end of a little cul-de-sac and is perched on a rocky point. You enter from the back where the foyer with closet leads straight ahead into a full bathroom. To the left is a beautiful master bedroom outfitted with a king bed, and an amazing ensuite shower/bathroom. The floor to ceiling windows on this level slide open, so you can access the upper balcony from both ends. Really convenient if the second room is used as a bedroom, as there is a good size hot tub, all ready to go.

We used the second room as a landing spot for our photo gear and computers. It was set up as an office which was really convenient. There is a sofa bed with linens there, if needed.

The main event is on the lower level, and it is truly breathtaking to come down the stairs and walk into the living, dining, kitchen space. The decor is minimal and carefully chosen not to compete with the real decor which is the ocean and sky just beyond the glass walls which slide right open to extend your living space to the patio outside. The sliding doors to the side of the kitchen let us access a covered portion of the patio. This was great on the couple of rainy days we had. The patio is equipped with chairs and a table as well as a lovely gas fire pit which we thoroughly enjoyed. It needs a key which can be found in the kitchen drawers. Took us a few minutes to find it, but success at last.

We were there in early spring, so the gorgeous gas fireplace was greatly appreciated. The powder room off the kitchen is handy The cement floors are heated and lovely on bare feet. You have a gourmet kitchen at your disposal if cooking is your thing, otherwise some great little restaurants and bistros in town.

The beach though rocky was beautiful to relax on and we got some great pictures of sea lions, shore birds during our time there. It is a gem of a place to stay. The doors are a little tricky to lock, so make sure to double check when you leave that everything is secure.

Outstanding new home, breathtaking views, perfect for 2-4 people

Really a special house. View of the water/Vancouver island in the distance from all rooms is spectacular. Changes almost with the hour. At high tide, the downstairs area- open living space/kitchen gives a view of nothing but water and the islands in the distance. Master bedroom and hot tub on adjacent deck are great, also with outstanding views. Preparing meals or just hanging out is a pleasure in this house. Guest bedroom- on the smallish side- has a fold-out bed couch, worked fine for our 2 teenage kids. Close/walking distance to Sechelt, but really feels private as it shares a difficult to access beach with only a few other homes. Only criticism I have is that that closet space is limiting- no place to hang jackets etc. yet as bars in closets were not yet installed for our stay. In conclusion, would stay at this special house again in a heartbeat.
