Villa El Jardín

Set in a truly idyllic location, this delightful former farmhouse—over 100 years old—has been carefully restored and converted into a welcoming rural cottage. It offers guests a peaceful and relaxing retreat surrounded by nature. The property has 2 pools: one indoor heated pool with a temperature of 28ºC. And a private exterior pool of 5m x 2.7m., along with outdoor furniture, sunbeds, and a parasol, perfect for al fresco meals and sunny afternoons.



Location and outside area

Just a short walk away lies the hamlet of El Acebuchal (800m), a unique “off-the-beaten-path” destination where tranquillity reigns. Yet, within only a 15-minute drive you can be in the whitewashed village of Frigiliana (7 km), and in 25 minutes you can reach the beaches of Nerja.



El Acebuchal has a fascinating history. Nestled in a lovely valley within the Tejeda and Almijara National Park, the village was abandoned in 1949 under the Franco regime. It remained in ruins until 1998, when a descendant of one of the original families began restoring a house. Since then, 32 homes, the town hall, chapel, bar, and cobbled streets have been lovingly rebuilt, reviving the hamlet’s original charm.



Today, El Acebuchal is a haven of peace with no shops but a highly regarded bar-restaurant serving traditional local dishes such as game, wild boar, and goat. Access is via a winding mountain road, with the final 2 km along an unpaved track. In Frigiliana you will find small supermarkets, many shops and a wide selection of tapas bars and restaurants. Larger supermarkets and gas stations are located in Nerja, 14 km from the house.



The surroundings are ideal for walkers, with pine forests, thyme, and rosemary perfuming the hillsides.

Inside and lay-out

The cottage, restored by its local owners, combines authentic Spanish character with rustic charm. Inside, you’ll be welcomed by wooden beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, and walls painted in warm, varied colours that create a cosy atmosphere.



The entrance leads through a covered terrace with both dining and seating areas, a perfect spot to enjoy meals or simply relax. From here, you step into the inviting living room, which features an open fireplace and a TV, making it an ideal place to unwind after a day of exploring.



The kitchen is styled with traditional Andalucian tiles yet comes fully equipped with all modern comforts, including a fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and a full range of utensils, so you have everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals.



Upstairs, the first floor offers two charming double bedrooms and a full bathroom.
