The Purple Pheasant, Patty's Barn, Lancaster

The Purple Pheasant sleeps up to 7, it offers a bright open-plan living and dining space with high ceilings. The ground floor includes a double and twin bedroom with a shared bathroom, plus an upstairs ensuite double room with an additional single bed.

The kitchen is fully equipped for a home-away-from-home stay, and we provide fresh linen, towels, natural skincare products, superfast Wi-Fi, and access to on-site washing facilities.

Optional add-ons

Wood-fired hot tub - please read before booking.

Our wood-fired hot tub is available as an optional add-on during your stay.

This is a self-service experience: we provide the firewood, and you heat the tub by adding logs throughout the day. The water takes approximately 5 hours to reach temperature, with logs needed roughly once an hour.

Events & experiences

We have two private event spaces available to hire for gatherings and retreats. You can also explore our on-site team, Land + Sea, who run a calendar of seasonal events, workshops, fire cooking and foraging experiences.

For something a little different, The Black Knights Skydive Centre is located nearby, offering tandem and solo jumps.

Group stays

Planning a group stay? Patty’s Barn has 13 properties on site, along with shared dining spaces, an open fireplace, catering kitchen and a dedicated retreat space. Ideal for family gatherings, celebrations, retreats and corporate stays.

Getting around

We recommend having a car to make the most of the surrounding coastline and countryside. Lancaster is just 10 minutes away, with easy access to the wider Lancashire coast and beyond.
